... I look forward to both sir!

Don't forget my gorgeous self!!! Bahaha.

Is there any possibility that my local parts girl

(no, she's not the one depicted. She's from CA, knows a lot of guys out there that are on these boards, used to own 40s, and is cool. Before I endure the wrath. Dan's gone and I need starter contacts and plunger, yesterday on the 80. No choice....though I still don't have)

Could have access to a system that'd show an F short block still in Toyota's inventory?

Am I a fool to hold out hope this is true?

If it is true, am I a fool to consider that a starting point?

Another note.

Found five new OEs and best part is, they're 90 miles away.

$126.73 each, pre-Mud discount and no shipping, since local pick up.

It was very easy to justify the purchase, considering the expense of blasting and coating, three trips across town to move from one to the other, and not having to be in a hurry to get tires to pull pig from jack stands (hate jack stands).

Plus, three of these cost what one of the 80 of FJC's wheels cost, so much easier pill to swallow.

(By the way, thanks for the advice, Wayne. I appreciate greatly).

Have word in with Mike there, too, to discuss what inventory they may have of needed body parts, so the trip was necessary anyway, plus will get to see my buddy Josh, who handles the resto shop. Win-win.

May be like a kid in a candy store and leave broke, who knows. Haha.

Did some other chopping from the 72 part out thread, and wound up with a few necessary parts, and others that'll make the process a little easier.....I hope.

Hopefully enough for Jim C. to work with.

Hard to envision it ever looking like this.....

May have an unnecessary F Aisin OE rebuild kit, if anyone's interested, from a previous carb deal gone bad.

I hope this was a score.

Hate it, but the rest of the titled Pig is crusher bound in the next few days.

Still on the hunt for long bodied Aisan/Asco lockouts.

They seem to be elusive beasts, too.

Is that the original Pig you purchased?

That's the ad the previous owner I bought from, bought off of, according to the sale time.

Get this.

Spoke with Mike at Cruiser Corps and he echoed similar regarding mustard never being an FJ 55 color.

I swear that's what I've got, in places that wouldn't have ever made sense to spray.

Maybe a rare one? Hahahahaha.

I have a '76 Pig that's totally Freeborn Red, no white at all. Told that couldn't be OEM, but like you have found the solid color in places, especially throughout the interior, no one but the most OCD paint person would have bothered with.

Delancy, didn't want to heist Brenno thread so I will add comment here. Utilitarian, that's why no power anything except rear window. They did come with A.C. don't know if it was factory or dealer installed but I believe Dealer.

Thanks Bob.

That's my point, Bob.

Just seems odd to impart technology in the one spot that it isn't really a necessity, straying from utilitarianism.

Ambi doors, or even an 80ish split door would suffice, but Toyota seems to have a thing about rear ventilation, inherent in all the US models, be it this or the sliders on the 80 (only two real LCs I own).

Of course, mine's broke and I haven't driven without AC in 110 degree OK temps since the mid nineties, so I may sing a different tune later.

Been searching for the OE AC unit, haphazardly.

Check these out.

These were advertised a matched set of six, rings for four.

No rings in box nor the box top to the set, as best as I could tell in the short amount of time I had.

Yes, I realize these are standard bore and won't work on mine, but thought it'd be cool to have.

Delancy, Funny we own the same vehicles and almost the same years. They didn't start getting fancy until 88 when they added the power options and auto trans. I have had 80 Toyota pick up 4 wheel drive which started this obsession. (SON OF THE LANDCRUISER AS ADVERTISED.TANK WITH TIRES ) 78 FJ40, 88 FJ62,91 80 SERIES, WIFES 2000 100 SERIES, 73 FJ55. Not a lot compared too some but a lot of heritage. And I am not done yet, and no one else who has been bitten is done. Just the way it is. As far as A.C. unit check with CRUISER PARTS .NET. Sorry so long winded. Oh by the way the PIG is my favorite.

Thanks Bob

More interesting is this was the first power window Toyota ever did on any vehicle, I think it was because the windows on the 40/45lv sucked so bad (those slide arm supports). Keep in mind they were designing this in '67-'68, amby doors hadn't come out on anything yet. I think there was a parts book showing a manual crank on an early pig -

Tucker

There was a pair of ambulance doors on cl a while back.
