Finally got sliders I like

If you really want to split hairs, LCP... your setup shouldn't pass visual because there's only one cat. Either way though, I like how you've routed it. I was going to do what you did, but after I installed a 1" body lift, I'm seriously eyeballing just running it down the inside of the frame rail.

Dan- since I'm considering running my exhaust on the inside of the frame rail, how hard would it be for you to make me a set of sliders without the cat pan and instead just a straight arm like the other two on that side?

Mandrake,

I don't think that would be an issue at all. We could bring them up an inch on the mounting plates as well to accommodate the 1" body lift/stay closer to the pinch seam on the body.

Not everyone wants to do that on their rig. But I do agree that moving the cat is a great idea. Although having a low hanging cat protection does seem to lessen the need for skid plate a little.

Although I am wondering why the TEQ plate is on the bottom of the tube and not on top where it could be used as step. Also that's a ALOT of steel on the cat protection, with enclosed design mud and debris might get trapped in there.

Qball,

The cat skid has thirteen 2"/1.5" holes as well as a generous gap around the control arm bracket at the bottom. Wouldn't be difficult to revise it to a more open design and I'd gladly send out a replacement for anyone experiencing an issue ... but it will likely always be a compromise between real protection from rocks and being open enough to only collect minimal debris though.

We've run the 'spanner plates' (between the rectangular tube and the round tube) as we call them the other way, but the Arizona rocks here had a tendency to grab/catch the open edge. We have been recently offering bolt on or weld on (aluminum and steel respectively) step plates with the dimple dies running whichever way the customer has preferred as well. This gives a full length step as opposed to shorter steps as well. Running the dimple dies upwards in steel gives the best grip for your foot/shoe of course (not pictured here unfortunately)

Well I for 1 like 'em real well just like they are, if I didn't already have sliders I'd be in line for some. 3/8 may be overly thick, but it's like complaining you brought too much ammo to, well, anything.

But I also like / am fine with the cats where they are & really up here we expect some of our enviromental laws to crank up (right now we don't even have emissions, something that can't last much longer) - so playing safe never hurts, esp for those who may sell their 80 at any point.

I like the Aus versions, no EGR, no Cats. :smokin:

Do you know if these would fit with the man a fre View attachment 1144975 a lift with the upper control arm brackets?

The passenger side and cat skid will clear, but the drivers side mounting point wont be able to wrap around with the drop bracket there. You may be able to weld the foot onto the frame or use self tapping bolts to secure that foot down

Just keep in mind that the mounting plate that secures against the frame is longer than the frame is so that the u-bolts can mount to it. You would need to be sure that the drop bracket doesn't make contact with the mounting point

anybody have a pic how they actually look on the truck ?

I wish these were alailable as a user assembled kit. Would bring down the cost and allow for some customization

Your not to far from Slee, just get a set of castor plates from them, then sell those MAF in the classifieds.

Cat protection is an oxymoron when it comes to sliders. Manufactures should continue to charge the same, delete the 50lbs of low hanging metal, and send you a gift card to relocate your cats. A winning combo

I do like the bracing from the main runner to the outer tube, nice!

But California is a huge market and Man-a-fre said relocating the cats there is illegal. That's why I live in AZ

Just one more reason not live there. I just wish the [assinine, enviro-nazi fascists of NorCal] people would stay there

Fixed it for ya. :flipoff2:

I'm from SoCal. In the 30 plus years I lived there I never met a single person who had anything good to say about emissions regs. I know those fascists are out there, I've just never met even one of them. Everybody knows it's more about power and less about environment, and it just keeps getting worse and infecting other states. It's obscene.
