Took mine off because it was rattling. Now it is a beautiful decoration on the garage wall.

took mine off as well, not because it rattled though. I just wanted to be able to pop the hood and quickly take a look to say "yup all looks good" every now and then, without removing the plastic each time.

^ Same-

I removed the cover to quickly and easily keep an eye on things; (like the throttle body coolant leak I found).

I took mine off a few months ago to replace the starter and lost the bolts and nuts so it stayed off. Now I want to put it back because it's taking out space in my garage, best place to store it is where it belongs.

I stored mine in the trash can

Mine is floating around in the attic somewhere. Just in case I ever sell the car one day and someone actually cares about that.

Does the cover act as some sort of baffle?

I'd imagine it reduces some noise and also reduces some heat to the hood/paint... but I don't think that was their main purpose. However, the 100 did get a much larger engine cover than the Tundra. :meh:

Engine Heat, hadn't considered that possibility but it does make some sense. Thanks Fellows.

Mine used to vibrate after the engine temp reached to running point, removed the cover and voila. no more vibrations.

If anyone has a 06 or 07 cover they're not using I'd like it. Please!
