Hi Everyone,

Ok, removed the tub by myself yesterday. Hey, at 71 and no one to help, have to be inventive and little red was a big help. I have pics as to what I ended up doing. Will work on editing photos and hopefully start posting my progress in the next day or so.

Steve called this morning. Needed my SS number for customs, so the aluminum tub is about to be shipped.

Got the frame relatively cleaned. Will work on it some more and then apply some POR-15 to it. Cut the old muffler off since it was toast. So much easier to get to thing with the tub off. LOL!!!

Steve advised using Lizard Skin Ceramic Coating for the undercarriage of the tub.

Until next time.

Hi Everyone,

Ok, here are a couple of pics as to what I started with. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pics of the suspect areas until after I started tearing into this.

Originally, I thought only some minor repairs. Obvious rust spots showing up in a few places.

Ok, after checking the small repair areas, it quickly became a bigger issues. So, here are pics as to what was uncovered after removing a ton of filler.

Cleaned out the frame. It was packed with dirt. Will power wash the frame tomorrow weather permitting. I did do some sand blasting to remove scale and get into the hard to reach crevices around the rear bumper and shackle supports. It was a Harbor Freight sand blaster. It was ok, but....

I started on the hood a few weeks back to get an idea as to what I may be up against there. Seems like everything is repairable. Note the multiple layers.

I'll post more as I proceed unless you guys feel this is too much.

The nice straight top lip on the tub is kind of valuable. If the floor is okay or the wheels wells, people will appreciate those.

The aqualu tubs are nice.
I see Steve around once a year or so at our local cruisers shows. Nice guy
Only ever bought one part from him though. I like all the aqualu parts
Pics I took years ago at our local show-n-shine.

Nice photos. Thanks for sharing. I'm thinking my tub will be here sometime next week, so scrambling on getting the frame ready.

id say $800 is fair. It really isnt too bad. You made it out to be alot worse haha!

You could start at $800. I would not cut it up and part out unless it takes a while to sell. It is too far away for me. I have paid less for complete tubs with cowl but they needed more work.
