Dirty too! Still has some Colorado mud on it. A lot of the mud wound up in my mouth, on my face, in my hair - such as it is - and eyes. Moral of the story is: Clean the underside of the truck before you start banging around on it!

I keep my s*** so clean i get made fun of for it here lol

Got my skids installed too. Definitely a work of art!

Thanks to @Tex68w for starting this thread and to @teejnut, @MTNLIVIN, @Leelanau for your contributions. I really appreciate all of your help and am happy you all like the skids!

When I designed these, I had a few requirements I wanted to meet for higher speed desert driving:
  • Better impact protection from a hard hit from the front
  • A shallow skid plate angle to help deflect those impact forces (20º angle)
  • Light weight
  • No loss of ground clearance
  • Easy oil changes
  • Easy one-person install/removal
  • No cutting, welding, or drilling required
  • Make it out of non-rusting materials
  • All parts fit into a 28x28x8 box
The skid plate thickness is 3/16" thick. I may offer the plates in stainless steel in the same thickness to those interested in hardcore rock crawling. These would mount to the same sub-frame. The weight would increase to around 120lbs, cost more, and I probably would have to ship in multiple boxes.

As the four members and I installed these on a range of 200s (LC and LX) from 2009 to 2020. I would consider it a successful prototype.
There are a couple minor tweaks that will be made, but overall I'm quite happy with how they came out.

I'm going to figure out a way to get a pre-order list going on the site without charging the full amount. Something like a $100 fully refundable deposit to get on the list.

I'll let you know here, when that is added to the site.

Thanks!

The subframe alone would be enough for me…it just looks cool. :D Like the protection under the Hummer H1.

How much clearance is there between the top of your lower plate and the bottom of the front diff housing?

In for a pre order once you get it sorted. Awesome product.

These were designed for maximum clearance so there is .125-.25" clearance between the two. These won't fit with a diff drop, but it would be possible to space everything down enough to clear the diff drop. Longer hardware and spacers would be required.

Do we know the approx cost (hardware and shipping)?
I'm going to try my hardest to keep the price I have on the site. I will also try and keep the flat rate of $150 for shipping, but think this might have to increase it or find a cheaper shipper than UPS.

I just took some ground clearance measurements of the skid plates as I was curious where things sat post lift/tires/skids. My LC is a 2020 with a OME 2" lift on 285/75/17 BFG KO2's. With the E&E Aluminum skid plates I measured 12 3/8" ground clearance at the very front edge of the front skid plate and 13 1/4" of ground clearance at the rear most edge of the transmission skid plate. Considering that the ground clearance on this Cruiser stock was 8 7/8" I am very pleased with the results.

Added pre-order page

Wix is silly and only allows pre-orders to be paid in full, I just added a pre-order page for the skids. This will make it easy to track.

I will need 15 pre-orders before I start getting parts made.

Just placed a pre-order, I have a diff drop. Can u let me know what hardware I will need as far as longer bolts and spacers, or will I need to figure that out?

Yeah, I can help spec it out. What is the height of the drop?

These are amazing... Looks like you're in Vegas, options for picking up directly to save on shipping?
Yes, we can work something out, I go into Utah all the time too.
