Very nice - thanks Marbles.....that is EXACTLY what I needed to see.

In short, it looks like the pedal (78111) is still in tact and not butchered. The rest of it, including 78184 Channel, seems to be missing. Yay more parts sourcing. It also looks like that "channel" I speak of is handed LH and RH - they even look different. (grumble grumble).

Would be nice to hook up with someone in Canada that has a parts rig I can work with. I need to start making a list.

I really appreciate all the help!

I know your going for as close to OEM as possible but a Solar converter ( look up stone's set up for wiring) is worth it's weight in gold. For battery equalizing alone it's awesome but for 12 V requirements, trailer lights for example. Other then that you got it all. Alternator, Starter, glow plugs plus relay, EDIC + relay, heater fan motor, radio, wiper and wind shield washer motor, and lights there's nothing else electric and you've got most of them. As for the windshield wash motor I got one from NAPA 20 $ when mine packed it. IT's a 12 volt but it's been one for three years and hasn't died yet.

I read the first two pages of Stone's setup. I have a headache now. Thanks. Ha ha ha!! I think I'll have to cross this bridge when I get closer to the batter/power setup. It looks like a good idea however, thanks! I don't think I'll daily drive this rig however - but will have to look into it.

At this point in time I am trying to collect correct parts and pieces. Patience is not an attribute that I am friends with, but I am trying.

I appreciate all of the help!

If you leave that 3B normally aspirated, you will learn to be patient. Patient in a "creeping up the highway" sort of way...

Oh come on!! Ha ha ha.....is it really THAT slow? Why would Toyota sell something that was dangerously slow?

I mean...I've driven tired 2F's and yes they are slow by today's standards, but I am usually in no hurry.

Yes, they're really that slow. :D A 2F is like a cheetah on meth strapped to a rocket engine compared to a 3B.

Wish I could take you for a spin in mine Dallas.

And mine has no turbo and is a 1/4 litre less in engine capacity too.

IMO the power of a naturally-aspirated 3B isn't a problem in a BJ42 unless you run with a lot of extra weight.

I pulled a 3000 lbs trailer across Canada this summer with my 3b and aside from a few extra steep hills there was no real issue. Who's needs to faster than 90 kph anyway ?

I live at around sea level so I can't say much for altitude-based power loss. . . But it seems like the more I'm forced to drive the speed limit with my N-A 3B, the more I realize that going 10-20km/h over the speed limit doesn't get you much in the long run. Chugging along at the speed limit, I tend to eventually catch up to cars I see zoom past me at stop lights or freeway exits.

Doesn't mean I don't want a turbo and some other power boosters though, :D

Hopefully all is ok with the toys and the house and your back home now!! Frickin cops!

What a night!

Everything fell into place as if it was a perfectly executed ocean's eleven bank robbery last night.

Local authorities and military personnel opened my neck of the woods after having been evacuated due to wildfires for nearly three days.

I returned home last night around 8:30pm and immediately received a phone call from the freight company. Strange delivery hours, but two hummers escorted the 53' tractor up to my house (a refer at -10F).

Having ordered a drop gate at delivery, the truck didn't have one. Luckily my next door neighbor has a skid steer and we chained up the frozen 3B and tucked it safely onto it's pallet behind the BJ42 last night.

Whew....I can't wait to get back to work on this beast.

As previously mentioned, (and I'll get more pictures as I have time to dig into this)....it is indeed a 12V 3B and has the alternator/vacuum pump, EDIC, and starter all in tact.

I'll have to start hunting for 24V stuff and work on selling/trading this 12V gear.

The good news is I am finally home and all the cruiser stuff is safe and sound! Yippie!

Forgot to tell you that they asked me if it needed to be refrigerated or frozen. They definitely got a confused look in return. And since I didn't really crate the thing to be lifted from the top, I hope that the unloading went ok. Glad to see it made it there.
