Hi guys. A little late but figured I would start up a build thread for one of my personal builds.
Picked up a clean almost rust free 1990 2 tone 62 as a trade for helping with a 100 series build for a customer.
so far I have not done to much mechanical but did add some 17x7.5 Toyota steelies, 285/75 Yokohama geolandar mts, new grill and blinkers and reinstalled the factory front seats.
Also a custom bumper that is currently a one off but may entertain a run in the future.
The next stage will be happening soon as I have a pallet of goods heading my way from torfab! On this pallet is everything needed for the h55 swap and I have a fresh 3fe ready to go in as well. We will be building a custom rear swing out bumper, sliders as well as some simple roof bars.
Hoping to have it all together and ready for cruise Moab in April.
Here are some current photos and photos when I brought it home.

Saw your bumper pic on FB. I absolutely love it and hope it makes it into production. Such a perfect match to the 6x series body style.

Diggin' the bumper too @benc

Not gonna lie...I'm also diggin' those aluminum wheels, what are those? What size are they? They have an almost OEM chrome look.
Thanks. The wheels were on it when I got it. I want to say they were Mikey Thompson wheels.

lovvvvvvvvve the Geolanders!!!!!

curious...are you thinking about a rear bumper design? I love the dissent skids on my 100 and would seriously consider a Dissent rear bumper to replace the current one on my 60.

Would you consider selling those old aluminum wheels? They might look good on my fj40. I like your front bumper. It looks very nice.
Thanks! Not at the moment but I may consider it in the future.

I will be doing one on this one but may only be a one off unless there is a good bit of interest.

Received the pallet of goodies from torfab yesterday! Planning on doing a little bit this weekend to prep for the swap and hopefully finish it up next weekend if all goes well.
Also got some new toys for the shop!

It doesn’t. What’s the adapter for?
The otc is certainly going to be a game changer! Maybe we will be able to get the 60 bumpers into production after all.

Been a rush trying to get this all together before cruise Moab but we are close!
New engine and 5spd are in, ended up having the fuel take a dump on the first drive home late and had to tow it back to the shop. We pulled the take inspected all the wires and installed a new pump. I also took this opportunity to run some wires directly to the fuel pump to the battery and will leave the fuse out. Did this just in case there is a relay or wiring issue I will be able to bypass the factory circuit in a pinch. So far it’s running great with the new pump.
I didn’t have the correct shift boots for the tunnel cover I had so we ended up taking a 3D scan and making one to use the factory tcase boot and the shift boot I had and that worked out great. Once that was all sorted I added sound deadening to the entire floor and installed new carpets. Unfortunately the front lower kick panels are extremely brittle and falling apart so will need to figure something out there.
Also added a Gfc rtt. Didn’t really want one on this build but I think the Gfc fits the roof of the 62 perfectly.
So far I have about 200 miles after the swap and am loving it! Completely different vehicle now.
Hopefully will get the rear bumper on in the next week or two.
I apologize as in the rush I did not get a ton of photos but here are a few.
