Agreed. The thin tube just doesn't fit the 200 to me. Needs beef!

That no hoop bumper though 👌

Meh, we all have our opinions.

I think if you want "beef" go get an ARB or TJM. All the cow you could want and then some. I love the smaller hoop size on the replacement bumber. Enough to protect my headlights from a deer. All I need. I think it looks amazing in person.

End of the day, options are good. its nice to finally have a few options when it comes to 200 front bumpers.

Completely agree with you and glad they went the route they did to be different from the typical ARB look to offer some variety.

I really like their slim bumper, especially on 16+ LC. The day I can afford another 200 to the stable it'll have that bumper and be a mall crawler

A little teaser of our new low profile front bumper! We will hopefully have this same bumper available for the pre facelift as well.
Prototype should be test fit this coming week if all goes well.

Loving the look of these especially seeing it on the beast that is the Stellarbuilt. Makes the 200 look like it went on a diet and came out stronger, leaner, and sportier.

@benc any changes in weight with this bumper? Is the any lighter than the standard dissent bumper?

Should be the same as the current low profile in cost and about 60lbs.

What is motivating the changes? Looks similar, perhaps more substantial than the current one. Seems to be sticking out more in front than the current offering?

I admit after seeing the current low profile bumper in person on LCDC, I like it a lot!

I think its a little rude to just come into a thread unprovoked firing like this, and it has nothing to do with you thinking the bumper I put on my vehicle doesn't look good, even though I greatly disagree.

As with everything, its design has its trade offs. But in terms of a low profile, light weight bumper that provides great clearance and a place to mount a winch, I think its a great solution.

At the end of the day, its a custom job. Custom jobs require a phone call. Ben is one of the easiest people to work with, all you gotta do is pick up the phone.
I think this bumper looks great! ...curious if you noted any discernable change in the vehicle's driving characteristics associated with the Dissent front bumper? e.g. handling, wind noise, etc?

Also have been getting some good use out of the rack. Mounting items to it has been pretty easy using some angle iron mounts.

Hey, nice rack you have there :giggle:

We do a lot of highway miles with our truck and so trying to maintain a pleasant cross country experience with increasing need for utility... I am curious about wind noise with this install at highway speed? Have you noticed an increase as a result of the rack install? TIA!

If there is, its minor. Had several people comment while riding inside how quiet it is all things considered.

No change in noise, handling or anything. I recently had the new Dissent front bumper installed on my 2008 LC. The crew at Dissent is top notch.

Cross posting this over here, even though I am a 100 guy, hope you all dont mind. There might be more 200 guys running his bumpers than 100 guys at this point, haha!

I emailed Ben, but figured I'd post as well. I am curious about how the large vertical accessory panel on the rear bumper is utilized, how many rotopaxs it can carry, etc. Is it more meant to be utilized as an eventual upgrade to his big table and lockable enclosure, or does it have more utility on its own than the jerry can holder?

I’ve seen guys mount 2 deep (so 2 x 4 gallons or 4 x 2 gallons). I opted to not get the plates and made ladder rungs with 80/20. I also have a Jerry can sitting on the inside of the panel, along with my Weboost OTR antenna mounted to one of the risers.

Appreciate the feedback. Anyone else?

Mine is coming with the lockable enclosure. My reasoning on that was I wanted a securable exterior place to put my ARB hydraulic jack and some recovery gear (kinetic rope and whatnot) and also have a spot to mount 2 5 gallon jerry cans on the back for water. We are getting a LRA aux tank at the same time, which necessitated the spare relocation which lead to the ‘might as well’ thought for the lockable enclosure. We debated on getting the panel at first and upgrading to the lockable box thing later but figured it would be easier, and likely cheaper, to do the whole thing up front. Modifications can snowball quickly… we just embraced the avalanche and went with the flow.

Gotcha. I kind of doubt I will go the lockable route, doesnt necessarily fit my needs. I love Ben's engineering, but I cant tell if its just a larger way to carry less fluid than the jerry can holder, albeit with rotopax.

I have a question, my apologies if this has been answered already--I scrolled through the thread, though admittedly mainly looking at pictures and not so much reading :o Anyhoo, on the LX front bumper, is the main exterior portion all aluminum? Reason i ask is I have a silver LX, and a light polish and clearcoat on raw aluminum I think would look perfect on this truck.

I'm thinking I'm going to order the Lexus bumper as soon as I can scrounge up the money.

I either mount a single 4 gallon rp or two 2 gallon rps on the outside. On the inside, I have a jerry can and then an Outer Limits Supply First Aid kit. At camp, I use it to hang all manor of things.

Nice build! How is the Jerry can secured? Can you carry rotopaxs and maxtraxs, or just one or the other?

Thank you. Right now I just use a cam strap, but it would be pretty easy to fab a cage for it. I just haven't bothered because it is pretty secure back there and straps are pretty light weight.

As it is, it is either/or for RP and maxxtrax, but the way the whole thing is designed, there is really no end on how creative you could get. There are enough mount points on both the panels and the side rails that you could pretty easily fab all kinds of solutions. I have thought about a hinged mount for the maxxtrax that would lock in place over the RP where you could open it like a door to get the RP out if needed. You could do something very lightweight.

I mean, you could easily just use bungees or cam straps to just hold it on over the RP as well. I can't imagine why that wouldn't work.

The center and wing sections are aluminum, the recovery points and mounting hardware (as well as the recovery caps) are steel. I'll try to dig up a picture for you, but your idea should work if you paint the steel parts silver-ish.

You could probably get close but I think there would always be a noticeable difference. I think espeically over time the paint would oxidize. But to be honest, the same thing happens with the plastic versus the steel body panels so...
