My full replacement front bumper and step sliders shipped on Friday. ETA for delivery is 6/10. I’ll have the bumper color matched to the truck (Attitude Black). Unfortunately, installation won’t be done until the end of June due to travel commitments.

I have the new design Dissent bumper on order (the one with the Bullbar). I'm hopping it will get wrapped up and ship soon.

I am having Brain Oliver ( @Briano ) at Gunnison Tire install it, along with some Bud Built Skids. I bought a 4th Gen 4Runner from him, that he fixed all up for my wife/son. I just did a 2k mile roadtrip in that, and had zero issues. Overall feel confident in what Brian will do on my 200 (his wife has a super charged 200).

Anyway once, i get it installed I'll post some pics. If you aren't in a big hurry, feel free to let me be the guinea pig on this one.

-Chris

P.S. Where are you in CO?
Sounds great I'll be following your setup, looking forward to seeing the results! I'm located in Denver so not that far from Gunnison.

If your 4Runner is back in town the proper springs are here now!

I'm expecting it to be back in town in September. I'll hit you up once it's back!

Thanks Brain.

The bumpers seem very functional and interesting, I wish they did not have so many exposed bolts. Look kinda agricultural.

I'm obviously biased, because I have one, but I think the bumper looks awesome in person. I have no issues with the bolts. They are no different than the Toyota bolts you can see on the exposed suspension bits. I've already had like 3 people ask me about in less than the week I've had it on, and I live in a small town.

Bumper looks great. The hoop does not look proportional to the 200. Need 2.5” - 3.0” OD tubing to make it look ‘right’ imo.

3" tubing around the headlights? It would look like a personal floatation device. Also to clear the headlights and the grill, it would have to be much higher and way more bulky.

What I like about this bumper is it is not humongous like the ARB (and similar) offerings. Those bumpers are so huge, they look like a helipad hanging off the front of the truck.

Ben and his folks designed this to flow better with the lines of the truck, while still affording great access to the winch, and shaving off some weight with the aluminum skin but still having the steel skeleton for strength. I think this is one of the few bumper designs out there that look like it was actually designed for the 200, and not just a grafted on "make it fit" solution.

At the end of the day its all person preference. Anyone that is interested in this bumper I suggest trying to see one in person. The pictures don't do it justice.

My $0.02,

Chris

I don't mind the ARB look, but I'm partial to my Dissent FRB.

100% agree with this statement. We looked at all the available options and what we liked about the Dissent stuff was the fact that it does stand in stark contrast to the rest and looks like it’s part of the vehicle and not something extra bolted on as an afterthought. Exposed welds, bolts, aluminum, and made to order here in America… heck, I’ve spoken and texted with Ben, the owner, at least a dozen times to get every detail exactly the way we want for our needs. That fact alone was worth it for us. We waited a long long time and hope to take delivery soon.

I think this bumper is basically perfect. I'm trying to resist calling Ben to see if he can make it work on an LX...

I want all the ARB, TJM, etc folks out there to know I'm not trying to POO on your bumper or decision to get it. I think the protection provided by the ARB is top notch. I'm not as worried about hitting a huge Kangaroo (or mule deer or elk), however if that was a major concern, I may have gone ARB.

I did want to have some headlight / grill protection so that if I do have a strike I can hopefully limp it home. Also just like my sliders saved me from a thousands of dollars of body damage when I got hit a year ago, I like the piece of mind that the bullbar provides in protecting our (*very expensive*) headlights. Even minor damage to them is $$$.

Good luck! I had a couple conversations with Ben asking him to make a bumper for the lx with hoops. He’d have to redesign the current lx bumper because it’s tucked in so close (what he told me).

Agreed. The thin tube just doesn't fit the 200 to me. Needs beef!

That no hoop bumper though 👌
