I think someone was asking about water in the dissent tower. I carry 8 gallons on the tower.

The center and wing sections are aluminum, the recovery points and mounting hardware (as well as the recovery caps) are steel. I'll try to dig up a picture for you, but your idea should work if you paint the steel parts silver-ish.

You could probably get close but I think there would always be a noticeable difference. I think espeically over time the paint would oxidize. But to be honest, the same thing happens with the plastic versus the steel body panels so...

Could match the steel sections to the body paint or black or some kind of contrasting accent color if you wanted some pop. I've seen a few of these (some one 100s) with some pieces painted contrasting colors and it can really work.

I have a question, my apologies if this has been answered already--I scrolled through the thread, though admittedly mainly looking at pictures and not so much reading  Anyhoo, on the LX front bumper, is the main exterior portion all aluminum? Reason i ask is I have a silver LX, and a light polish and clearcoat on raw aluminum I think would look perfect on this truck.

I'm thinking I'm going to order the Lexus bumper as soon as I can scrounge up the money.
You are correct for both Dissent's front and rear bumpers, the body or main portion of the bumpers are aluminum and the attachment points are steel.

I've been using and abusing my Dissent front and rear bumpers for 3 years now. They are still dead silent and as good as new. Can't say enough good things about the quality.

The zombie lives! Was wondering if you were on the mud or just insta.

This passed weekend I tilted my spare tire a bit. I love the look, but I think it's shakes a little more than before? It is a 35'' anyone have experience with this? Ps, saw a GX front dissent bumper in the wild this morning!

Looks similar to how I have it, and I have vibration as well. Close to 10k miles and it hasn’t fallen off 😎

@DJCloz how tight did you crank down on that monster swing arm bolt? I had to go way tighter than expected to get it right.

Pretty tight. Seems like the whole wing has some "up movement"( for lack of a better term) in it. It's not bad. I just notice it when I slam it shut.

Currently installing the sliders. How the F am I supposed to get a stepbit in here to enlarge these holes for rivnuts? My M12 Milwaukee, one of the smallest drills there is, cannot fit at anywhere close to a 90 degree offset to drill straight.

Sorry no help here but i'd say Give Dissent and their crew a call. They have always been more then helpful answering questions about their products and providing excellent customer service.

You sir need a right angle drill.

maybe one of these? I used this to drill a hole in the back of the aluminum bumper reinforcement when I didn’t have clearance from the radiator. I’ve used it for a few other things since then. Way stronger than I would have ever guessed.
