Right I understand the intent I just don’t think a $90K 6000lb SUV needs to look like a dedicated wrangler. It’s a similar argument between JL Sahara and Rubicon where one looks like it could take you from a light trail to a night in downtown and the other from trailer park to the nearest quarry.
I think someone needs to design a bumper that looks like it belongs on LC.

Have at it.

Buy a GWagon or wrangler if your goal is approach angles. The 200 is not meant to be a rock crawler and once you clear the front approach, the rear is going to drag with its long overhang. The 200 is for over-landing and safety to the malls with family. I remember a few years ago having this exact conversation with Christo when he was doing work on my ‘14 200. He agreed 😏

Maybe your 200 is not meant to be a rock crawler. And who is Christo and why should anybody care that he agreed with you.

I mean no offense because you seem like a nice person. Just seems like you are trying awfully hard to convince people. I’m pretty sure everybody gets by just fine on their own. Some of them are perfectly happy rock crawling in their 200s. Why would you care so much if they do?

When was the last time you saw a gwagon anywhere but the mall?

Haha. Christo Slee. He owns one of the most reputable off-roading companies certainly in the U.S., probably in the world as well. @sleeoffroad

For those who are interested in Dissents offerings, recently got the Rear bumper done. I opted for the traditional jerry can holder on passenger side. Also had them re wire the rear camera. Overall very happy with how it turned out.

Also have been getting some good use out of the rack. Mounting items to it has been pretty easy using some angle iron mounts.

I genuinely apologize if anyone feels I have been unfair to dissent. I think it’s amazing Ben is making options for our 200’s. I have a lot of respect for anyone working and also trying to make a name for themselves. All I was stating is that the current design of his front bumper for the 200 just doesn’t really flow well with the design. Just my opinion, that’s it.

You gonna delete the resonator?

haha, yeah, its begging to be squished. Still deciding on just taking a sawzall to it or going to an actual shop. I'm gonna leave the rear most attachment point and cut distal of that I think, so anything i do is somewhat reversible back to factory. Some people have reported melting rear bumper lights from idling too long with the engine running. Maybe tomorrow is the day it comes off...

I did sawzall mine. I think in retrospect it would have been both cheaper and better results to take to a pro. I had a buy a couple $10 pipes, and a couple $30 tips. And for that a pro would have dealt with it.

IF you decide to come out by the tire, leave enough room for mud flaps.

Do you happen to have any pictures of your end result with this?

It literally looks like you’re missing bumpers, lol
But if it works for you that’s all it matters.
And MB would never put something like that on Gelandewagen, they have too much taste
much in the eye of the beholder. builds on here run the gamut and everyone has their own idea of what works best for them. so many options for TLC and now a few for LX570s too

I agree. It was pretty cheap. Just have them add on a short down angled extesion. Maybe $50
