I took the spare tire carrier off and built a simple shackle mount for the rear.
When time allows, I'm going to build a poison spider style carrier for the rear.

Have you seen the “lambo” style tire carriers the Addicted Off-road builds? Google it, you may like it.

I needed the shackle to winch it down, and then be able to provide pics of my epic cruiser on 42's.

Lol! Now it all makes sense...

Looks so great. Did you appreciate the extra ground clearance? Did you have to redo the bump stops? Looks to fill out the wheel wells nicely.. I’d like to move up to 40s for that reason.

Front bump stops seem pretty dead on. The tires just rub fender at full stuff. The rears barely touch the inner part of the bumper, so some trimming is needed there. Sadly, that'll also require some work on relocating the taillights.
The ground clearance worked wonders in the boulders and hopefully will work in the snow in a couple of weeks as well.

I love my 40's in the snow and rocks. a set of chains on the rear and it's uunstoppable! you'll have fun.

I say you replace it with links :D

What are your plans for the rubbing on the front fenders? Cut them? Raise them? Campbell hood?
I'm going to leave them for the time being. Maybe after the new year I'll pick up a 1" die for my bender and make a set of tube fenders, but the rubbing is minimal (full stuff, only when going downhill).

Looks like it will be really stable when off camber. Do you drive to the trails or trailer?

Also, I think we need some better action shots!
It's funny, either I'm driving and can't get a pic when I'm in a stupid spot, or my wife is holding on for dear life asking me if we're going to flop and won't take a pic. I'll get plenty over the next few months, but I think that having the stock leaf packs in the front is helping to keep things planted when the rear is working overtime.
I trailer, but next year plan on picking up a set of the 41.5 rocker radials, so would like to have the ability to just drive up on what would be "easy" trail days with friends (I'll keep trailering for days where I know I'm in the rocks).

Okay, after some more thinking, it's time for the front to get some tube fenders. I can bend up some 1.5" tube with the help of a friend, and his die has a fairly small radius. With all of the "kits" out there running a funky weld together tube for the front edge of the fender, should I model mine like that or just go for it and try to get all of the bends correct on a single length of tube?

If you could do it with one piece that would be sweet. Didn't you just recently sell your MT fenders? They only thing I'd hate more than doing a set of tube fenders is doing them twice, lol.
