Coming right along. Very nice. Any pics of the shock mount? I want to see that RuffStuff mount in action as I may switch mine to that.

No pic of the mount yet. Not comfortable welding/ tacking it in without weight on it. I think it will set up well though.

Thanks gain Drew!

DUDE!

Looks friggin awesome man.

Man that looks nice, makes me wanna SOA my 62, but figure going full width on my 40 should be my first order of business.

I like how the cut and turn worked out.

On your half degree difference, was that in the rotation of the knuckle balls or in the spring pads?

I know!!! It feels good. I am doing my best to take my time but it just keeps going together very smoothly. I do have to give you guys props who have done this swap before as it made mine that much easier!

never notice that you have a rear FF .. another score !

Have had it on for about a year now. really like the easy service it provides.

1/2 degree was in knuckle rotation. Pads are as flat as they get.

the wheels are old school Ansen slot mags. they are 15X8.5 with 3.5 backspace. I bought them after months of searching from ebay.

took me about 6-9 months to get all 5 wheels!

there is a vender in washington that sells these old school wheels but at a premium of course.

unfortunatley as much as I like these I just can't bear to tear them up on the rocks so they will be traded off for a set of beadlocks.

Clint

No laughs here man (other than your fro) as I will more than likely be running them myself!

Got some more work on the truck today. Put the weight on the axles and re-measured. rear needed no adjustment and the front needed 1/2 degree on the drivers side after settling.

Pulled them out and welded. Sorry no pic of the rear but it looks like everyone elses.

Full weight, welded, and ubolts in:

:flipoff2::flipoff2: I thought you were going with 37's? You'll be just fine with the 35's, I have been eyeing those KM2's myself. . .

man you guys have no idea! total termoil over the last 4 days on the tires. the allure of 37's is killing me. I know I have the gearing, the lift and a few more $$ and I will be there. wife says she doesn't care as long as the truck will be on the road soon and will pull the tent trailer......

feeling a bit like this: :bang:

Dylan how well does your rig get around or did get around on the 37's? My fear is size overkill especially with towing. The trailer is uber light about 1200 lbs but with 2 adults 2 kids and gear I am afraid that I will be in 2nd and 3rd all the time trying to lug around 37's with a 90 HP 2F.

anyone else have input?

I thought the 2F towed better than I expected. I recently towed a 500 pound trailer with a 750 pound 2F on it back from Southern California. I really had no problems to speak of, and except for hills, could not tell it was there. Just don't plan on towing very fast-60 mph is about where I kept it. That included the Greapevine which really was no problem at all.

Just make sure the 37s don't cause rubbing issues. I know that Dieselbigot was running 36s on his SOA 60 and had minor rubbing issues on the front fender. The bigger your tires, the more likely you break stuff, so look for your happy compromise.

Clint,

I have never had 37's, I have always had 35's with the SOA. I have done arguably harder trails than the Rubicon with 35's and I struggled in a few places. 37's would have been nice to have in those few spots, but I can't justify them without Longfields and Poly's-- you have those so it comes down to $$$.

I agree with the breaking stuff. After seeing portfj62 destroy his drivleine in Moab I got way gun shy with bigger meats. His rig is way overbuilt to boot. I also do not like the idea of body mods. Just isn't going to happen with this truck. I was pondering 36's but am limited to swampers and past experince shows they ride like crap and wear out fast. Considering this rig will see 90% road and long drives to wheel this just won't work. More work to do before tires anyways!

It always comes down to $$ doesn't it! I thought you had 37's at some point and recently went to 35's. I have always like the look of your rig so maybe the 35's will be just fine. More second guessing coming...

1. My wife destroyed the driveline, I would have passed on that ledge.
2. You think my truck is overbuilt?:hhmm:

UN HIJACK

Stay with 35s it will be perfect.

More Hijack-I don't remember why it failed on Spike. Was there a ledge right there? i remember thinking it was the 500 HP into a Land Cruiser CV driveline built for 120 HP.

Anyway, lots of carnage that day, including the guy in the blue 40 who broke those heim joints in his rear suspension. I destroyed an MTR that day as well, and Christo had a hole in his radiator.
