Delancy's NEW 76 PIGGY ???

Steering u-joints should be same as 60 series steering u-joints, which are same as early 1200 cc Corolla drive shaft u-joints...

Then should be easy enough to find....I hope.

I'm running three men short, paying the price for being gone last week, so have limited time with the Pig until next week, all in the wee hours of a morn.

My apologies for the crappy pics, since they were taken in total darkness at 4am.

Anyhow, questions.

Smog has been removed, but honestly not sure what under the hood can still go, yet.

In cargo bay...

Currently has a LockRight, which I'll be removing since a driver, not a wheeler, and no intentions on PS.

What else should be considered "while I'm in there"?

Intend to run 33s, but considering those like an OD, so see no reason to gear, but have no clue what's involved in swapping the OE spiders back in.

image-127046548.jpg

Did get my yellow jack and crank. :)

image-3473972924.jpg

Turn signals are solid. I've not investigated at all, but this was included, so assuming it may be necessary to fix?

image-4079659030.jpg

Water Pump. Prefer OE, personally, and will opt that route unless NLA.

image-101699834.jpg

image-1148273127.jpg

Check these bad boys out. Are these NLA?

image-1366095411.jpg

Clutch "kit"? Is OE NLA? (Apologies for asking what I can find out on my own. Just laying it all out there)

image-200580646.jpg

One OE brake backing plate (47043-60010)

Some bad, some questions.

Knew the roof gutter was rusted, but it's actually separated slightly on the DS, so will need addressed.

image-3118732149.jpg

Caved in, like the other two, too.

image-557948120.jpg

Body mounts are in the best shape of any I own or have personally seen, as are the floor supports and front fenders.

Lower fender attachment is crusty, as is the rocker at the rear, but still feels solid, so maybe patch?

image-2751925769.jpg

Only leak I've located, so far.

image-1116932166.jpg

This might drag over a speed bump.

image-2076183547.jpg

Nice, eh? Plan to patch since the hood is in good shape.

I may have made a mistake, in the haste of getting a battery to get to tag agency. Usually prefer DH Platinums but was hurried, all in vain, as we know, to tag.

Kept the physical size of what was in it and it appears the terminal of the previous may have contacted hood.

image-3424797632.jpg

image-2607968858.jpg

Hood support has separated, too. No big deal.

I know Ige has told me twice, but can't find the posts (probably because my threads are epically proportioned, my doing) regarding the location to determine OE color.

I'm not going to get hung up on keeping it true to OE, if I don't like the OE color, but eventually it will be painted something model year correct, other than the current pink.

Anyone recall where to look?

I can't see any evidence of anything yet.

Door fix?

image-1120510140.jpg

Have so many doors to choose from, but hopefully an easy repair that won't require more than a skin patch.

The steering wheel and seats have got to go.....

image-2053102908.jpg

Visors are shot, but have two replacement sets to work with. Not sure how headliner will fair when removing to fix roof.

image-1342869354.jpg

Clear coated after all. Will probably follow suit on the other three sets of these I'm refinishing.

image-1220615672.jpg

Dash is cracked.

image-2737345061.jpg

Have no clue what this could possibly be for. Appears to be a stranded wire, so thinking stereo? (Flame on, if its something simple I should know)

Carpet is going, too.

I'm trying to compile an email to Jim C. to confirm what I've got and what I need, since I have no clue, to return to Aisin.

I have no idea if these are the OE linkages he said I'd need, or not, since its not an OE carb.

Sure is tempting to put an AC compressor here.

Dizzy pics. Not sure what I have, yet.

Not sure about this....but it isn't heat resistant.

Quoted from an email from Jim C.

"You can send a rebuildable 75-78 2F core carb, or add $100 core charge to the usual $349 2F rebuild price.

The carb is the easy part to find.
The harder parts you'll also need are: the carb insulator base, studs & nuts, mechanical throttle linkage & pedal, formed steel fuel feed & return lines, air cleaner assembly, etc.

Yes, i have a few good non-US dissys, which can have a pertronix added to it.

But the mid-1976 & 1977 dissy is a very good points dissy, and should have a semi electronic ignitor system piggybacked on the coil already. If you can get that working, it's the best. Send me a pic of the dissy so I can tell if it is vacuum advance or retard (changes mid-year)."

Will forward pics to him, but hate being completely uninformed, as I believe Jim C despises my lack of knowledge and general wordiness, too :) so any help before replying to him with pics would be greatly appreciated.

Nice rig! That water pump is crap (had one fail brand new on a 3FE - came with the truck deal), the wire is for he seat belt light ;-)

Tucker

Good to know.

I'm an OE fanboy and if its available, that's what I'll run, so doubtful the water pump would remain, anyway.

I'm about to have more classified ads than I feel I can handle.

Thanks for info on seatbelt light.

Now, please edit that out, as will I, so I don't appear ignorant. Bahahaha.

I'm joking. No need for edit, since we're all very much aware of my Pig proficiency, or lack thereof.

The seat belt light must attach to the seat belt, somehow. There's no dash indications, so maybe the seat swap will be more involved?

I don't even know if the 71 bench will fit, nor do I know if that's what'll be installed.

Saw your 80 seats, but mine in the PP80 aren't that comfortable for my size, so don't know if they're viable or not.

Know Jason has a set of manuals, but I don't want to jump the gun and wind up with more crap to sell later.

Another of my finer engine videos.

Warning: You may experience nausea watching.
My apologies, but getting it out here for info.

Pig's Breath 2F

She's a runner. Hear a little valve action, I believe, but based on previous replies to the 72 video.

Notice the brass plugs?

What are they for?

Nice Chris!
My neighbor may have need for that '76 air pump (and related) that are in teh back as he now needs to pass emissions w/ his '76. Let me know if you do not/will not use.

Not a problem to put open diff back in. Search my Aussie locker install and do the reverse.

Dash caps are available for '76, not a problem to install - very easy!

can't veiw the video from my phone, but if the brass plugs are in the head, they're blocking the ports for the air rail.

pull a license plate lamp for the oe color if it's too early of a model to be on the firewall tag

i don't see thrust washers for your spiders. the thrusts for the side gears woud've been reused with the locker, but not the spider thrusts. you need those to put locker back in. (2 spiders, 2 spider thrusts, 2 side gears, 2 side gear thrusts, center block and pin and bolt for center pin)

@ Pablo.

I don't know of I need it or not in all honesty.

Have no intention to return smog, nor inspection to satisfy, so if that means it'll run without with a 2F Aisin, then it's available.

Have seen the dash caps, but hasn't noticed the cracking before this morning.

More to consternate over...thankfully.

I did not think to look at the firewall tag, since focus has been on those without any indication. Will look there first.

Will inventory complete content of all boxes and research the Aussie install to determine what is there and needed, then probably ask several other questions.

I have pulled and installed complete 80 and FJ. thirds, but have never touched the gears, themselves.

Y'all ever seen Tulsa this time of year?

It's stunningly gorgeous.

Those OEM parts above are NLA Chris.

Being:

OE spiders (thought all 9.5" shared?)
OE Clutch "kit" (plates and throwout bearing)
OE brake backing plate (other side to what I have)

I know hinges aren't....but neither are fenders and tailgates.

Glad to have new ones, nonetheless......even though I already have enough for 4 Pigs ready to rebuild.....

OEM water pumps are still available.

Well, based on the inclusion of a NIB water pump, I'm going to assume it has been determined to be in need, so I guess that'll be included in the cooling system PM, or whatever it's called on a 37 year old vehicle.

Being; the ones you took pics of with OEM tags on them. :)
