Another option up in smoke. The engine was in this building but still listed as available.

I can't remember if it was @codyaustin5 or @indycole, but one of them had to do a full replacement a few years ago and may have some perspective to share. They both happen to be fantastic gents.

Just put the money down on an LX570 motor. After dealing with several shady, or downright burned, options, I am not going to second guess this selection any more and roll with it. It is reported with less miles and we will be going through it before install to vet what we can before swapping over necessary parts.

Now, anyone got a spare Lexus engine cover they want to get rid of? It wouldn't be right putting my Toyota one back on. If all goes well, do we call this a LCX? :D

The really good news is you'll gain 2 hp. But then you'll be subject to running only premium fuel...

I thought engine swaps were an automatic +50hp, brake upgrades added +30hp, and TRD badges have you +15hp and +50 streetcred

Well, according to Mr. T, he's now racing in the 383 hp bracket. Hopefully the u-joins and pinon gear can handle it.

Ultimately I bet the engine is actually identical, it’s just the ECU that has a slightly different map. So most likely still a meager 381hp

it's good that you found one you like. Get the tranny fluid changed while your at it.

The while you're in there list is starting with cooling. The radiator was going to be preemptively changed this year anyway given the stress marks around the flat spot.

Good call. There is no way I’d shove a USA made tundra engine into a Japan made LC/LX.

Well, this American made Tundra engine seemed to do okay. Though, it was a 2UZ and not a 3UR.

Was worth a shot, but Toyota's closing line sums up the good will attempt:
We know this is not the response you were hoping to receive and understand the reasons for bringing this request to us. The experience you have had with your Land Cruiser is important to Toyota, and the information has been documented under case number.

With an 80 in his YT avatar I wonder if he is on Mud. He's welcome to my core as I think air freight back to Japan is out of my budget, but I am still hot about this that I want to dump it "return to sender"

His closing remarks are what I have been wrestling with. Should there be a valve spring PM, or what did I miss? My focus now is getting back on the road but I have some thoughts for later.

He LS swapped that 80 and he’s got several videos on that build. That’s what got me hooked on his channel.
