I like black wheels on every color 40 other than red 40s.
Dary gray looks great next to freeborn red and doesn't show dirt like white wheels.
Not a 40 but you get the idea...

Well, there's grey, and then there's grey.
The funny thing here Dave is, if you had a '79, which COULD have come with white spokers, nobody would question white.
What a difference a year makes.
I say, rattle can your old wheels in all three, see what strikes YOUR FANCY on the truck, then powdercoat your heart away.

The original color is not pewter its gray ... The bumper is pewter ... You are correct about the inside being black
