That is one of the nicest restorations I've ever seen!I finally finished the restoration. I needed a little help from a friend of mine to get it over the finish line because my back wouldn't let me bend over for a long period of time. It came out great!

Thank you for the generous compliment. I am not comfortable throwing numbers around, but you could contact Proffitt Resurections in Colorado and get a rough idea. All I can say is, it isn't cheep.That is one of the nicest restorations I've ever seen!

Ok, no problem. Just from reading the first couple pages of your thread, I thought you did most of the work yourself, with the heavy lifting done by professional restoration services. I hadn't caught that Proffitts was involved. A buddy of mine sent his '40 to Proffitts about 10 years ago and he paid a pretty penny back then, so I'd imagine it's double or triple his costs. But he ended up with going with an aluminum tub replacement. Dang, if that is the level of work turned out by Proffitts, then I have to give them major props, as your '40 is seriously one of the best I've ever seen.Thank you for the generous compliment. I had the same situation with the overhang by the front bib. Another mud member suggested that you need to shim the front body mount of the tub. This is the only way that you will get rid of the overhang. I tried multiple times of trying to adjust the fender and hood with no luck. I ended up losing the driver side and passenger side front tub mounts and a few of the others behind it, and sure as sh#t, when you start jacking the front of the tub, you will see the overhang of the hood disappear. This doesn't require much lifting of the tub to see the overhang disappear, I ended up shimming the front body mounts with a large washer or two. I believe my body mount kit was from Energy Suspension. The gap at the rear is pretty common and there is not much you can do about that.I took some pictures of the gap and overlap in front where the bib should line up with the hood, @65swb45 . The hood hinges were temporarily installed for the move to Texas. I have the painted originals that I will install later. I used Teflon washers so I wouldn't scratch the paint.
