1978 fj40 heater box rebuild
I rebuilt the heater box over the weekend with a little surprise in the pics. I know the upper is not Grey. Trying to decide which color I like better. Not a fan of the grey color myself.

Jen,
Me, I had a bunch made. It wasn't easy! Would you like a set? PM me
I just restored my heater box for my ‘75. My spring was pretty rusty, even after an overnight soak in some Evaporust rust remover.
I noticed you had two on your box, mine only had one on the upper plastic portion seen poking out in the photo.

Looks Great! I think that's a different model, but the top spring is the same. I think you just don't have the bottom spring. The springs I had made are zinc coated

Hi, I will be restoring my 1977 heater. May I buy springs from you? Thanks

Great to meet you today David! Your 40 is spectacular.

Stunning! Truly museum worthy Dave! I am happy to have been part of your great adventure. Many others have not made it to the finish line.

What does Barbara think of it?

Time to change your avatar.😉

Thank you for the complement. She is happy to see it done. It was a long journey, but I am proud of it. I put factory power steering in it and the latest vintage air system. I think I am the first recipient . Work really good!

Loving the pristine brake and clutch fluid in the reservoirs. Such a good feeling knowing the lines aren't clogged with 40 year old gunk.

Also I'm not recognizing your horn (right side). Is that aftermarket?
Yes sir, still working through a couple items that need addressing. The horn is not a great choice. Hard to hear, I needed one to pass inspection.

I finally finished the restoration. I needed a little help from a friend of mine to get it over the finish line because my back wouldn't let me bend over for a long period of time. It came out great!
