Hard to tell from the photo, is the bottom clearance the same or does the 750 hang lower?
What does clearance mean?
Ray, the a750 is nearly mm for mm the same as the 343 and smaller than the 442. The bottom of the pans are almost identical too. What you see on my transmission is the larger cast pan that we offer for the A750 and it is roughly 1.75” taller than the stock pan and adds 25% more fluid capacity. It’s an available option.

So this A750 is a no dip stick Trans just like the A750 in my 2006 Tundra.
It’s one of the only things I don’t like about the truck.
I’m old school and like to pull the dip stick to see that the trans is full and see the condition of the fluid.
I got excited when I saw that bitch pan, I thought they might have add a dip stick to it but watching you video it doesn’t look like it. 😔

I hear you… unfortunately Toyota did away with it and there are too many variants of trucks with an A750 to have a generic pan with a dipstick. I plan on checking it every third oil change. Warm up the vehicle and see what comes out of the overflow hole. If none comes out, then add, if it comes out it was too full.

We will be making a tool to aid with filling it too because that part is a slight pain since the fill is up on the side of the transmission.

Good call out. Thats a big drawback, imo.

I usually hate to recommend this sort of chineseium junk...but these work pretty good.

how is that a “big” drawback?

Seems very minor issues to me when compared to the list of massive pros the A750 offers

Hard to drain, hard to check, hard to fill. The benefits are not in question, but transmissions w/o dipsticks are PITA.

EDIT: i guess maybe I'm thinking of "sealed", and this is just w/o the dipstick?

Johnny explained it. I was curious if the pan on the 750 was lower then the pan on a 442 or 343 ground clearance wise. I may not have asked the question clearly.

Drains with normal plug. Check is done with an overflow plug. Too full, it’ll drain, not full enough add more. Fill is up on the side of the unit but we’re going to make that easier with a fill tube.

It’s not a bad system. I just prefer a dip stick. 😁

For sure, I’m there with you! It’s a tiny inconvenience though in the grand scheme of things
I see it as I’d much prefer to stand up vs lay on the ground to check the fluid. But just add it to the list when checking T/case and diffs I guess. No biggie. Simple change.

I made a whole table of trans/t-case/R&P/tire options with that one superb calculator that was posted earlier. The site won't let me post Excel, and any attempt at a PDF was useless, or I'd share it.

Email it to me. I should be able to host it online and throw up the link

Its a full spreadsheet so people can plug their #’s in.

I’m out but will post his sheet tonight when I can get on a computer! @COS80 definitely put some effort into it!

Johnny, what was the thought process on going with the A750 and not using the ZF8, for example? Just curious if this is really a step one of alternatives?
I think the answers are pretty obvious but I will let Johnny answer 😎
