It's eye-opening-ly faster (then it was before).

I've been driving too hard (heel-toeing and and full out acceleration all the the time). It just hasn't gotten old for me I guess. :)

Your milage drop is really bizarre, there is significantly less mechanical loss in the standard transmission. Does the truck feel more powerful with the manual transmission?
Or Maybe the problem is the 60 lbs of dead weight you are dragging on the road behind you, haha.

Jack rabbit start and quarter horse stops.... === GASHOG DELUXE!!!

Pitch dark in the forest doing a three-point turn, clipped a tree and tool out my first taillight!

It's a pretty big dent, but that's part of the deal.

Matt,

Take the cargo panel cover over. Get a baseball bat, large rubber mallet etc... Wrap a towel around the end of whatever you choose and MASSAGE the dent back out. Spread your efforts around the dent/work area. Don't work one spot for too long. Work from one end to the other. DON'T HIT THE PANEL.. Rub it out... HA!

You will be able to get some of that out..

Been there.. done that..

^ what J said, btdt. Now you'll really want his rear quarter protection + bumper!
Great thread, just read most of it, I was amazed that your Mom got pulled over, and the trooper was following up on mileage fraud.... Expose the dealership? .... probably too long ago.

Expose the dealership? .... probably too long ago.
Got $3000 on the purchase of the vehicle, 12000 originally so they paid 9000 for a 5 year old truck that mileage means next to nothing on.

You could alo jam a deflated basketball in there and pump it up. I have done tat with good results.

Only prob with the ball trick is... most of the time it puts a roll in the metal where the central point of the push is applied. Then you have to dolly the panel back out to get it straight again..

what a bad photo

Drove it over 1000 miles in the past two weeks, 700 of those were this weekend and it didn't skip a beat except for getting a little hot, but that's expected holding 3500-3700 rpms for extended periods of time in the middle of a Florida day. Maybe I need a 5-speed... :hmm:

Kind of a shame I'm pulling this motor next month.

But... 275K miles, original oil galley plug, 8000 miles since the last change. I think it has 50/50 synthetic/conventional. Headgasket is probably shot.

Honestly it runs great though.

Comfortable? Yes.

Decent smelling? No.

On a hot day those would be torture.

Those seats are in one of @mel lowe's part trucks and I have no intentions or plans for them.

I picked up a set of 285/75r16 BFG Mud Terrains on Saturday, although not the 35's l was keeping an eye out for I couldn't pass up the deal. Besides, I would have had to spend another $500 to get 35's to fit even sort of decently with this lift. These will go on my Tacoma steelies I've had sitting on the back yard. They have 5.5" of backspace so with the 1" spacers they should tuck nicely into the fender wells, and I won't run spacers on the rear when I get the 80 axle under soon.

Many pictures will be up soon.

I think I could have fit 35's but they would probably rub so whatever.... I really want to install the F250 shock towers and Bilstein 5125's. But I have an engine I still need to install and an axle I still need to install. And transfer case shifter so I can actually use 4wd and Low range. I haven't had it in low with the h41 yet but I suspect it'll be good.

Rear castor is pretty bad. But deal with that when you do the axle swap.
I think those tires will do very nicely for the time being.

Looks great. Love the rack

How can you tell that's there's anything wrong with the rear caster from some crappy pictures?!

And thanks. I hate the rack by the way and can't wait to get rid of it. It looks cool but that's about all it's useful for until I build a house.
