We recently did something crazy and awesome. We modeled and remade the early super large battery hold down wing nuts. They are stainless steel. This was a really fun project to work on. On the outside it may seem a bit nuts to reproduce a wing nut. But these are a fun detail on the 40, they have a truly old school look and feel, and beefy as all hell which also makes them really nice to use.
They are M8x1.25 thread so they should work for more than just the early 40/45s.

Hmm.

Do you have the battery cross bar? The earlier 40s support bar went lengthwise. I have a piece of wood for mine. :(

I am actually working on a stainless steel one for my 65 40. I have been using a hold down from a chevy but I feel like it doesn't hold the group 24 battery in my 40 that great. I'll report back when I have a good model . If you need one in a pinch though, definitely look at the early Chevy/GMC battery hold downs, they also mount length wise.

Stainless would be great. Keep me in the loop!!! I can wait. :)

Tomorrow is the last day to buy a body mount kit in the pre-order. After that we are closing the listing and will get going on getting them into production.
Thank you all for the support and we will be working hard to get these kits to you as fast as possible.
It sounds like they made their quota!? Looking forward to seeing the finished product.
