A fellow mud member gave me this block off panel for the rear. Its only plywood but has fasteners to lock it in place. Tried out some rustoleum colonial red paint on it and its a match haha.

Looking good man. Can't comment on the car seat, mine are big enough to go without. Although, the wife doesn't like them riding on the highway. You going to run a bikini top?

Yes I have a bikini sitting in the garage. Wanted to go naked for a couple days haha

Well the sun was too hot on face today so i went and put the bikini top on tonight.

More of a courtesy to others haha. Plus they are classics and i love character stuff.

Not saying im a fab master more a leaner hah but im pretty happy how this is turning out lol! I even put a slight bevel on the inside of the opening so i could angle the gauges just a little so they face the driver more.

THe gauges arent hardwired yet i just wanted to see the light!

Im thinking of just running power from the invertor thats under the dash already. Its on a switch but i switch it on daily to run phone charger etc. Just trying to KISS. haha

relay the inverter so it turns on when you start. Most if not all bosch relays are rated 12 and 24v, The ones I like are the fan relays off the ford crown vic's nice little box with its own bracket one 80amp and one 40amp, so long as your inverter dosen't draw more than 40amps at 24v the 80amp would work great.. will try and take a pix of one and post... really nice find on the bj40... yes cruiser karma works,

The inverter in it is a pyle 30A 720W

This should be enough to run 12v to liggter outlet and the power to my egt and boost gauges correct?

Rookie question here but if i run my power to egt gauge the + am i ok to run the ground to the 24v - terminal? Or does it have to go back to the inverter.

P.s i hate electrical

30amps will power a lot more than that, 5 amps for the lighter and maybe 3 for both gauges.. I haven't done it with an inverter setup like that but ground should be the same 12 or 24, test it with a meter, to make sure you have a good ground.

Ive always been told to run s dedicated ground right to batt for egt probe

Found it....do ;you know or have any decent bj42 seat belts mine are pretty rough.

Rob

I had mine rewebbed. Tommy's in Vic can do it if there's not someone up your way.

Looks awesome! I always wanted to take the top off but that bead of sika looked like a can of worms to me. The photos you've posted document the second time that top has been off that truck in its entire history. Looking forward to seeing your turbo progress!

Wow second time off in 35 years haha. No wonder the gaskets look like new!

Well seeing that the 42 is mostly parked till spring now i figure i should start on a little project for it....

For the record electrical work terrifies me!!! That one thing im more then happy to just throw money at till its fixed or done. Had a buddy stop in tonight and he does vehicle electrics for a living so he hooked up my 24v-12v step down so i could power my gauges.

Which brings me to the next step....
