Wow i priced out all new brakes all around them things are pricey!!!

Looking at $800 for everything

Is that for the caliper/rotor/pads and the rear setup? I’d be pushing the rear disc swap at that price. Rear swap is on my list as well, but the drums ar still functioning well. I’d like to couple it with a locker, so it’s gonna drive the price up ev n higher.

@archie73 Yes that was rotors, pads, caliber for front and drums, shoes, new springs and cylinder

Rear calipers for mine are $21/side, Rotors $60/side, flex line $30/side... you could likely do all the rear for less than $300 in an afternoon.

Napa has calipers for $80/side, rotors for $75/side, pads for $50/both sides... roughly $360.

I could be wrong but I think rear discs would save you some $$$ and take about the same time and effort.

Brett have you checked prices on Rockauto yet? They have a number of OEM parts for LC's still available.

Yes i always look there 1st. I tried to go that route when i just redid my front brakes on my duramax. The shipping on heavy parts is ridiculous to here in Canada. It was going to be $200 so that ate up any savings on cost. I bought all parts locally for about same price and had them in an hour not 2 weeks shipped haha.

Yes this where i got my $800 in parts was from NAPA also here in town. Those rear drums are pricey haha. Id love to do a disk on the rear but i just dont really want the down time as i like to drive my 42 when im home. Im away for work alot. I might just leave the rears alone and do the front rotors and pads. The callipers look in ok shape... haha it still stops decently. Pulls a bit to the right.

If it’s pulling something is likely not moving properly.

When you buy pads... get the fastest wearing organic pads you can. They’re much cheaper than replacing rotors... my last organic pads lasted 95k miles.

Wow 95k thats crazy! Lucky if this 42 sees 30k in the rest of its life haha

Realized my backing plates are shot!!!

I know they are "unobtainium" now so not sure what to do.
