I am pretty sure I am running them right now! Its been a bit, but bought new 70s visors with the original @ChaserFJ60 bases! The new improved base looks great!
That's the OG hardware! Glad to see its still holding up well!

Progress report

On the top left is a New hook from Toyota in black,
Top right is the same hook but painted to match the OEM color in the FJ60 as they dont come in the beige color anymore.
Bottom left is the OEM sun visor swivel base.
Bottom Right is my Reproduction swivel base.

I have the driver side swivel bases ready to go, Probably tomorrow the passenger side swivel bases will be done and ready to go as-well.

@ChaserFJ60 Have you ever looked into scangauge mounting solutions? I was looking at my never-to-be-used ashtray and thinking that might be a good spot. Fit is very close on my 62 dash. Happy to fund the design.

I had a similar issue with offshore manufacturing, they must had converted the units wrong because the whole part was 10% larger in every way….

This manufacturer is USA 💪

Maybe this time I will have to take the blame as I may have missed a small little detail in the fine print in my CAD design.... :flush: But I think they used a die with a larger bend radius, I think this was a multi person error. We'll see haha, its no big deal as this was just a small sample batch I ordered for fitment verification

@ChaserFJ60 the first batch of brackets I had fabbed for my fusible link replacement kit were very, very wrong, and I’m the one to blame. I know the feeling. I accounted for bend radius but totally biffed it on clearance for a hidden bolt head. That’s the way “R&D” goes though. “Why does your product cost what it does??” “Because I spent a ton of money before even getting to production!”

Anyway, those light brackets for new 4Runners, Jeeps, 200s, etc all sell like hotcakes. Every one of the new “overlandy” trucks in my neighborhood has those lights. I don’t see why you wouldn’t sell like 1000 of them if they’re production ready.

The current version in the back is a little too bouncy for my liking. And the way its positioned now makes it very prone to twisting up from a tree branch, Its too small, too weak. Its canned.

I'm test fitting a new bracket, It sits a bit forward on the hood but will move hood, allowing for larger lights to be mounted. Curious on anyones thoughts on a more forward mounted light, I know the popular option is to tuck it right into the A pillar but Thats not an obvious option for the FJ60. Hood gaps are tight and space is very limited. Is it a deal breaker? It sits directly forward of the radio antenna.

I'm stuck on two versions, One that mounts to the hood hinge, and the other option mounts to the hood support spring. The hood support spring mount may be blocked by the antenna and be too far forward for some peoples liking, The hinge mount so far seems to be okay, It will require that you readjust your hood and that the hood gaps are even on both sides... Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I would lean towards the hood hinge to keep the lights closer to the windshield. I’m pumped you’re making these, I’ve been hoping someone would make these for a while!

Its been a busy week, For some reason Ive decided to tackle 3 separate projects at once, Anyway here's the 3rd project, Dash pockets.

Its been too hot here in Texas to run some of my machines but orders are still going out, Im having to run things at night to beat the heat.

I used to run 45 epilogue lasers at a wooden jigsaw puzzle factory. At times in the summer it would get so hot half the machines would turn themselves off. We would resort to placing cups of ice next to the fresh air intake ports. It worked just enough to keep making product… how much damage it did to the machines? Probably a lot, but we ran those things into the ground anyhow and rebuilt them every year. Hot machines… fun times.
