That's what I'm talking about!! Have you read "The Toyota Way"? Definitely worth the time.

https://www.amazon.com/Toyota-Way-Management-Principles-Manufacturer/dp/0071392319?tag=ihco-20

Thats funny I just picked that one up and thumbed through the other day at the book store. Its on my list to hopefully get to within the year (on jack welch and six sigma at moment). I remember a movie in the 80s with a us auto executive and one from overseas that comes to mind. It was the mr mom comedian actor if I remember correctly. moral was a mix of family and work blah blah yes dear.

I found myself working in sandals as well the other day. I felt like a hippie from out west.... Maybe I relaxed more. That 2f looks good in the picture. That pic makes me want to drive to miss and meet all the cool toyota people over there also makes me miss smoking.

Just a reminder folks:

I leave today for Maine for holiday with my family (whom I don't see as often as I should).

I will be checking my emails/PMs on a daily basis for a few hours every morning while I am in Maine.

I will be available by phone as well.

I'll be putting orders in while I am away and small orders that can be put into a USPS flat rate box and shipped will be fulfilled.

Bigger orders can be placed but will not ship till I return from family time.

I hope everyone is having a great end of summer in Cruiser Land.

Best regards.
Onur.

OK, I am going to rant a little on Onur's thread, trust me he won't mind.

I am growing weary of folks whining about how they got the wrong part, got the right part but it failed right away, the guy on the phone had no idea what I was talking about, Rock Auto screwed me, on and on and on. Here is a news flash, if the little computer scene does not detail it, 95%of the parts guys have no clue about parts for 20 plus year old Land Cruiser. PERIOD

Parts fall into that 2 out of 3 rule.

You can get parts with
1.Cheap price
2.Quality
3.Knowledgeable sales

# 2 & 3 combined is the only constant.

If you are expecting cheap price and quality on parts for old obscure vehicles there probably is little help for you anyway so don't bother the knowledgeable parts professionals looking for wholesale pricing.

But if you are looking for deep parts and hands on experience with quality parts @beno is hands down the best current parts source in this country. That's obviously an opinion, given freely by a guy that buys some parts.

Anything to do with Land Cruisers really do not fit well in this Amazon economy. Many operations are small 1-3 man/woman shops. Time constraints are generally a big factor. Be kind to these people that supply our parts. Many of them go over and above every day, all day. They invest their time and money to provide specialty parts and service for all of us. Without them many of us would be SOL.

If you run into Onur, buy him a beer, then buy some parts :)

Yeah its something to be said about sending an email and say hey, I need this stuff and he deals with it.... sure you may pay a little more than some internet site but at last the order will be right and hand packed himself!

Not only does Onur get your order right, he puts some real thought in to your order. Case in point, in my last order to Onur I requested a valve cover seal, six new spark plug tube gaskets, a new grommet for the PCV, and a few other items for my 80. Clearly I'm removing the valve cover for some work. He automatically knows I'm pulling the throttle body off in order to get the valve cover off. Even though I forgot to order a new metal gasket for the throttle body, Onur threw one in the box knowing I should have requested one. Saved me another order and more delays getting my LC back running. This is the QUALITY of service and VALUE one gets from a LandCruiser Parts & Consulting order.
Keep it up man.

John

Effective immediately:

I will no longer be doing parts orders/requests/quotes etc. through PM/conversation here on MUD.

All you will get in response will be an auto-response. :)

All inquiries to me must either go through email to me: parts@landcruiserpartsandconsulting.com

or the old fashioned manner of the telephone.

This is being instituted mainly because of my volume and my inability to keep up with that volume through so many communication avenues. Streamlining the process is the best method overall for being able to keep up with demand.

Thanks much.

Best regards.

So I sent Onur an order for 3rd Gen 4Runner parts. Ignored the Land Cruiser only language. No idea if the order will meet the $100. Originally sent it to his personal email.

Why? I'm a gambler. Either I'll get parts or I'll be made into a meme. Either way, I win.
