Thanks, started breaking down the front axle, I'll get it removed tomorrow and start the cleaning process, and prep the springs for new bushings. Time to order a new Terrain Tamer knuckle kit for the Disc brake conversion. @orangefj45

Pretty much comes with everything you need, They even upgrade to the Marlin duel inner axle seals, Spent a few hours getting the 54 years of dirt and oil sludge cleaned off the front axle. Over the next few days I will finish cleaning and prep for paint. So much cleaning LOL we want to do it right

Spent sometime back on the 55, I pulled the original 3rd and man what a mess LOL After pulling out a few sets I found a nice pair of 3:73's I will be installing. I miss my old Road trips and the 55 will be taking the place of the 45. I have some future adventures planned to I want a nice freeway drive. I was also able after taking my time get the broken studs out of the exhaust manifold flange and re tap the threads WINNING ! This week we have some weather coming in so most of my time will be spent cleaning.

Got around to getting a few things done. The massive piece of angle iron welded to the frame was a PITA. It was the support bracket for the snow plow. I did some scraping and a little with the wire wheel underneath. That got old quick so Wendy helped me get the 55 set up to rent a serious power washer tomorrow. Right now I a just working to get everything clean and replace any gaskets and seals I can get to without pulling the motor and trans.

Snowplow ( The new name of the 55 ) is all cleaned up and back next to the shop. Gaskets and parts are showing up and the weather is getting better. The Mini truck disc brake stuff I had stored has some issues so I am going to use the axle I was saving for the Troopy. Its been stored a while so I and going to break it down make sure is in good shape.

Really productive day, I got the axle broke down and started cleaning, Gotta Love those Harbor Freight Ultrasonic cleaners. Starting with the knuckles and finishing with the hardware I got everything cleaned and painted. Spent sometime on the housing and it really cleaned up nice. Picking up the rest of the engine gaskets tomorrow next phase is replace the oil pan, side cover and valve cover gaskets.

New 3:73 third installed and the front axle is on hold for now, I picked up the remaining gaskets I am going to need so first off was pulling the oil pan. Nothing like trying to clean 54 year old gaskets LOL It might seem like I am all over the place I have a plan. Its so much easier getting to everything with the front axle out.

Where did this Pig come from?
That looks like a serious plow setup.
My 40 had been used to plow snow by the original owner.

I love the name Snowplow!
What were the issues with the mini-truck brakes?
Did you by chance drive your 45 out to the Black Hills Cruiser Classic some years back? I think you let my boy drive your 45 around the campground. He still remembers that! It was many years before he got his license. You gave him a shirt as well.
