That's great to read. I paid 2 weeks ago and was told the entire kit was in stock and would ship the following Monday.

So where are you placing the inter cooler? Without it the 6bt looses about 1/3 of it's rated power. John

IC is mounted in front of the ac condenser. Tubing is routed through front crossmember after being trimmed with a hole saw. That's what Dustin told me at least.

That
The last 6bt conversion replaced the trans cooler with a intercooler

Do intercooler have different efficiency ratings. Looking at the one on my factory 6BT is much larger in comparison?

That's where mine is right in front of the radiator. Phil do you have an EGT gauge on yours? Would like to know what it reads in normal highway cruising. Mine is around 500-600 degrees at around 60-65mph on a hot day.
Sensor is post turbo on the down pipe.

Yes intercoolers have different efficiency ratings, based of design, material, size and speed of airflow through the core.
The ones I have seen on the 12 valve Dodge 6bt trucks are huge. The 80 series only has room for less than half of that. Hate to loose that monster trams cooler, or just replace it elsewhere with a smaller aftermarket. I would want mAximum cooling on it to handle All that diesel torque. John

I doubt it's an issue with being half the size of the dodge IC... We aren't towing 12k pounds well I won't be :)

OK Dustin called today! He's got everything ready to go and was gonna ship it either tonight or Monday morning! Woo hoo. Last night I primed the motor and and gonna paint it this weekend. As well as I got talked into redoing / adding heat shiled and sound deadener to the firewall and trans tunnel while its easy access. So that will be my weekend

The noise is not bad at all. I don't even notice the engine at highway speed.

Good to know! How about extra heat on the passenger side from the exhaust?
Didn't notice any difference. I have a 1" body lift so I don't think I would be a good test subject for comparison. I did put in sound deadening for the hell of it after the conversion and it got rid of all the heat coming from the floor.

Well I painted the motor today ended up using the cast iron color witch is just a nice dark shiny gray that is pretty close to what I wanted but is all I could find in engine enamel.

Also removed the ABS module and rerouted brake lines.

I also pulled off the factory firewall heat shield and installed a bunch of the "u-seal" witch is pretty much the same as a dynomat but cheap!!! From home depot.

Looks good except you have a smashed PS heater core pipe. I hope it's fixable without having to replace it.

Got a couple things done today.
Installed a new oil pan gasket for the heck of it and a new tranny filter and trany pan gasket. Gonna try to get a new trans input shaft seal while its apart.

Put on the new A/C and alternator mount.

Hey Sean does that belt routing look right? Or do I go over the top of the A/C pump straight down to the right of the crank and the water pump between the A/C and alt?
