This $18/week seems incredibly reasonable to me, but anyone unable to pick up their top within 3 days will be responsible for their own storage costs.

I’ll be offline on the river from 7/21-7/28. I’m around next week and can pay you actual or estimated additional costs before I go offline and we can true up when I’m back. Happy to do whatever works best.
 
Our container popped to be XRay'd. So long as it's not full of anything peculiar we "should be good".

Cost is $375 to be shared equally amongst the 10 of us.

Will tally up total bill once I get it.
 
Will need a by name rundown of who will be picking up and who will be shipping - if you're shipping I'll need the company who's picking up so I can have my import company provide delivery orders for each shipment. I will get the address of the breakout warehouse first thing next week from my broker.

I'm tracking I am the only one with two pieces, everyone else should be only one box.

This would put us at all 6 picked up Saturday if @likethewheel is in. Other 4 would be shipped via freight.

I've been in contact with the East Coast crew, with the exception of the @Universe953 . Out of the quotes we received the one from Lucky 8 was $880 (x3), so id expect it to be a little over $1k with 4. Theyre also checking on shipping directly to @bulletsmith to make the logistics a little easier for him. Lucky8 will confirm final pricing when they have a pickup location and date.

Also, I've arranged a storage location at a ONSC MUD members Auto Body Shop in Charlotte to help everyone be flexible on pickup dates.

Sean please let me know who the pickup person will be when you get it. Not sure if my import agent will need it or I can make it out to Lucky 8 shipping/logistics/ or whatever their formal business name is.

Can you shoot me a DM with the names of each individual that's getting picked up by your shipping company?

Sending a DM with the names of the 4 of us.

Need to get a physical address and pickup date to get confirmation on the company. Lucky8 uses a broker, so it varies I believe. What day do you think you can have the 4 pallets and a few misc boxes/parts put together for pickup by? They'll have the address, but if you could put a black magic marker on the pallet(s) that says Lucky8 that would be great.

I am getting confirmation that these packages can be picked up on Saturday - unsure why a port that runs 24/7/365 wouldn't have warehouses that operate on the weekends, but I've seen dumber things happen before.

Saturday may also be an aggressive pickup timeline given the need to XRAY now, and the ship isn't getting into port until Tuesday now vice today. More to follow once I get it.
 
Just to mention, Saturday seems super unlikely. Even without X-ray, it's one or two days to unload, a few days for an appointment to pick up, and another day for destuffing (unpacking the container). X-rays usually take 2 to 3 days.

Update 16 July, 1030PDT:

Ship is now moored in port. Also, the warehouse IS NOT open on the weekend, so need to adjust our timeline.
 
Thanks Paul, let us know when you have a good sense of when they will clear X-ray, get destuffed etc. Worried that Monday isn't realistic either, but would like to hit the three day free-hold window.

Will do. A little disappointed in how long this is all taking, especially with them now being required to get picked up during the week (apparently most warehouses aren't open on the weekends per my broker). Just getting antsy because of how long it's been. I'd expect that pickup is probably not going to happen until mid next week.
 
shipping is always “hurry up and wait”. And they’ll hit you with some extra charges wherever they can. BTW not only do you pay for customs exams (not the exam itself but cartage to/from), and if they take too long you also have to pay demurrage for the container which can be $$$. 🤦‍♂️

Ya I got hit with 2 days of demurrage when I imported my troopy because the company I had used for the import was "too busy to do the paperwork" for several days. I think you get 3 free days at the port of LA?
