Finally settled in, Clyde safely in shop.

Great day and big thanks to @KSDaddio his son and two grandkids. We hit ground running at 7:15 this morning after they made drive yesterday from Phoenix.

Removed the body off Delancy’s 76 and put it on @KSDaddios chassis. Went pretty smooth.

Then it was the 69s turn and that wasn’t as smooth. Some body mounts were quite stubborn. Had to remove the linkages under tranny hump which required pulling up the carpet along with few other nuances of the 69.

New body mounts washers were too small for the body mount bolts, so that’s on list to fix.

Left inner fender going to need some trimming to accommodate the PS box. AC compressor tight fit so will figure something out for that.

Tomorrow will draft task list (gonna be long list) and start addressing them.

Master brake cylinder is later model with 4 mounting bolts. The 69 has 3 mounting holes.

I swear that city racer had the adapter plate but searching now, I’m not having much luck finding it.

Seems like JT outfitters also had one but prefer to stick with City racer if able. Anyone know about this adapter plate and have a lead?

Very Helpful Greg! Yes it’s a 69 and now that you say it along with the 8 track radio that was in it there was also a CB. With my ADD i have to keep redirecting myself to stick to what really needs to be labeled with pulling the body off. I see a wire going off some where and its like “squirrel”!
I feel you on that one Brother!

Found radio that was in the 69 when I bought it. I do think it would super cool to put this back in it.

Wonder if there is somewhere I could have it sent to make sure it works like it should?

7” rain since 5:30 this morning in half a day. Wife and I have been stuck at farm all day. Attempted to go to town hour ago and roads still flooded. Ponds filled up though and I’m still working on pigs so it’s a darn good day!

I bet the ducks are happy that their pond is full, eh?

In my 470 thread I have a picture of my factory head unit when I pulled it. There was a sticker on it from when it got sent out for service. It was an outfit in TX. LMK if you want me to dig that up.

@Tomba and I have very similar luck. I just got the radiator put in. Put gallon in for starters then figured i would check to see if it would start. Clutch went straight to the floor without any pressure. Clutch reservoir has fluid in it no leaks, but no clutch! So off to look into that. Was hoping to load this one up on trailer and haul to Tulsa tomorrow. She did start but has nice whine in engine compartment. I took brief look at the harmonic dampener and it doesn’t appear to have a wobble so there’s a positive!

Hopefully bleeding the clutch takes care of it.
Oh man, good luck.
Could it be alternator whining? Like if the battery was discharged?

Thanks TJ, I’ve been talking to a couple shops. One in Canada and another in SC. Consensus is 8 track player not worth attempting to restore due to parts scarcity and likelihood they are prone to breaking. Not cheap to rebuild, around $740 for both shops.

All the insides removed, cleaned up and updated with Bluetooth, AM/FM radio and usb charger with AUX plug.

First thing to do to the 76 when I get to Tulsa is burp the radiator. I threw some in, didn’t see any leaks put cap on to load trailer. Next thing wife announcing to everyone (just she and I) that it was spewing radiator fluid all over the trailer. Think overflow canister is cracked. No other sources and the wife’s greatest fear that I was poisoning all the animals (both dogs) didn’t occur.

I’ll burp using @pigeatens method, when Kim isn’t around.
The drive to Tulsa might do some vibratory burping for you!

Hope to bleed clutch this afternoon when dropping off pig. However, which fails most for those that know, does the slave or master give out first? No obvious leaks as mentioned and this pig sat for many years in that storage unit of Chris's.

The 69 body is going to look great when set on this frame and wheels. Pig got quick rinse today on way to work.

I forgot about those VW turn signals/marker lights.

Yep, this 76 body going to nice mudder from AZ who had unfortunate incident with his after it rolled on its side doing some climbing. It’s not perfect and has some rust but there are a lot worse out there. With he and his son coming out it provided great opportunity to do the swap.

In beginning I purchased it from Delancy’s widow for the rebuilt engine, 5 speed and everything Chris had Robbie rebuild in Golden around 2013.

With so many things that would need to be done to the original 69 to make it a daily drive this just makes sense to me.

I’ll tag Chris’s build thread thread to all that was done.

That is a great thread that Chris made.

You might get more use out of the Bluetooth update vs 8-track!

It’s just isn’t the same

You know if you care to just leave that in place for looks, you can pick up some very inexpensive Bluetooth amps ( under $30 ) and stick in under the dash or glovebox and just use the phone for a Bluetooth source….they are about the size of a package of cigarettes

I have this in my 40 and 45. And it works very well
