Can somebody make these for the 80?

I understand, I PMd Jose regarding one that sits right behind the antenna on the fender, but i thought about the people with snorkels, it will not work out. I can offer both mounts for anyone interested, I will update with pictures later tomorrow as well as some modifications to the current.

That whole process was insanely quick. Much faster than that AOE group buy (ha ha). Anywho. Socal if I were to put some piaad on there how would they react at day 75 mph aka freeway speed? Drunkenly Fat-fingered on my iPhone using IH8MUD

If those aluminum ones vibrate at 50mph with the smallest light available, I can't imagine what they'd do at 70mph with normal sized off-road lights. Just something to keep in mind. Probably need to redo them in steel since you said 3/16" is too thick.

No kidding right? That's what happens when I personally make something, it gets done quickly and it get done the right way.
If I had the time to build the bumper and sliders, it would be relatively quick. Unfortunately I don't have any control over other companies, but I can definitely handle everything that I make. I'm glad the bumpers are done and shipped out, my sliders group buy is lagging a bit but it should be done by next week. I went to the fab shop, everything is cut out ready for welding.

I will test it out with some piaa lights on the freeway, I will record as I drive and report results. What size are we talking about here? I have 4" piaa lights on hand.

They vibrate when I go over a pot hole or a dip, I took some bad streets on the way home to test them out. But I will do some more testing on the freeway with the same light plus 4" piaa light.

Not trying to critique your work, but are you concerned about chafing the paint from vibes? That was one of my concerns about that design while I was considering it.

That was in my thoughts as well, thank you for bringing it up. My drive home was about 10 minutes and it was already dark, but it didn't seem like it will do anything to the paint. The movement on the light was 1/8" max when I hit a pot hole and quickly stops on smooth surface. I will confirms with more testing to provide accurate data.

I'm going to mount the other side with piaa lights to satisfy both inquiries, you can see side by side results on the same road.

I have a design laid out on a cardboard at home and heading to a buddies place with a plasma and my steel on sunday.....

the design I came up is however bolts to the top not the bottom

Socal did you try that?? I would HIGHLY suggest these be made out of steel, alluminum will vibrate with the weight all the time.... its not re inventing the wheel here ;) Has anyone reached out to Eric at relentless hes pretty quick at making these type of products

Ok guys so here's what I just came up with, I think this is as good as it's going to get. If you need anymore angles or have questions let me know.

PM me if you are interested in purchasing this product, I will do a group buy discount.

by tomorrow I should have a bracket you can mount 2 lights on top of each other, also developing one where you are mount a 40" light bar across your hood.

-This mounts to the hood hinge so you will not need to drill any holes or need any hardware.
- Built out of 1/8" aluminum, does not rust, doesn't need paint or powder coat, but I can definitely paint it or have it powder coated.
- I was doing 50mph with no noticeable wind noise.
- It sits flat over the hood because I bent the lines very carefully to achieve this.
- There was very very minimal vibration when I went over a few pot holes at 50mph

- WIRING: I tested the wires, i put the wire from the light under the hood, closed it up and it does not pinch the wire. You can run your wires under the hood without issues.

Damn man you don't mess around! That looks good. Looking forward to feedback regarding vibrations at high speeds. If the answer is to use steel vs aluminum, I'd much rather go that route, maybe even make it a bit thicker too if it would fit. With regards to light sizes, I will probably end up running the 4 LED pods, but I did like the idea of the 7" round LED light I posted earlier, that might look good too.

I don't have any measurements, but here's a shot of my snorkel. I think there's still plenty of room to make the bracket angled to the edge a bit, like the 4Runner version...

And lastly, with regards to more than one person making/selling these - I say, the more options the better. It's not like you guys are putting patents on this, is just a simple metal bracket with a few bends.

Hey you asked for it and I told you I will come up with something :D
I have version 2.0 coming today, as soon as I'm done feeding my baby, pack his stuff, then heading to the shop :) I think I came up with something that will eliminate 90% vibration.

Just putting this out there. It's not that I'm taking my ball and going home because I want all or nothing, but my point all along had been that I am willing to make the product in small batches, but I simply can't justify taking the time to do one here, and one there from time to time.

Just finished testing the second version on and off the highway, I was doing 85-90 for about 2 minutes. There was zero vibration, wind noise... 85mph? what wind noise???
I drove in a construction zone about 40 mph where sections of the road surface was dug up in multiple spots, the holes were about 4 inches deep. I drove from one dip to the other probably about 5 dips total, there was zero vibration. I mean ZERO vibration!

For me its simple, I will go with whatever I feel is the best design. I try not to make cost a factor....usually,

I agree, similar feelings here. I have to admit I still like how the original 4 runner bracket did angle out towards the outside a little as well.

Forgot to ad that you can likely put 5-8 pounds on this mount and it will not budge

Way to go!!! Pic's & price of the new version #2? Also, would I be able to mount 7" HID's & have clearance behind them?

A after reading through the thread, I thought you guys are concerned with the lights hitting rocks/walls. I have a prototype for mounting on the side sitting above the fender.
