Seems like there is enough space even with the snorkel to fit some of those D2 Rigids or similar sized 2x2 boxed led light. For me those mirror mounts really would be the way to go. They wouldn't block any of my field of view but would allow me to throw some light out forward and to the sides like I want. Let me have $ome.
