bought a kit from Summit Racing , an Airraid filter and set up the intake. The oem setup was a filter mounted right behind the radiator. i plan to use the louvers in the hood for cooler air entering intake.

I just saw this thread for the first time.... WOW. By far, the best build I have seen to date. Your attention to detail reminds me of an ICON. Amazing work, I hope I'm lucky enough to see it in person one day.

Very nice project and very pedantic. But what is the weight of bumper? And why are You (not only You) making such large and heavy structures especially in front.

Although there is more to it, and it take up more space, it doesn't look like it would weigh much more than an ARB bumper. The bumper itself actually doesn't look like it weighs much more than stock.

112 lbs.....not that heavy,......sitting on 35yo oem springs suprising dropped only 1/8". I have always built my cruisers a little on the heavy side, as im never doing time trials, it helps squats those springs nicely, as long as your gearing is set up and your launches are smooth, you'd be fine.

as for taking up alot of space, i was wanting to fill that void, without looking gawdy, following all three lines on the hood. I started out with the KISS method, stared at it fora few months, then started to fill according. The main hoop is the same as everybody elses on the road, and i dont do regular very well.

We do have a huge overabundance of wildlife on the road here in Colorado, although i dont plan on doin 70 at night, i am still semi protected.

Below are a few i have done in the past, the white one is on my 2008 5500 Ram (232lbs), the black one (248lbs) i built for a client, which has unfortunately tagged its fcurth deer, these i build for 90% impact and 10 % style but you can see the same design. Sorry for the shameless plug.

Have a safe New Year and thanks

I feel sorry for any deer that just happen to run out in front of you on the highway. Sweet build!!

Wow, with bumper like this I will never be legal on road in Europe :) . It would be the same like going for a walk with AK-47 in hands. :)

Finally....pics worth lookin at

nice build thats my fav color of all time on cars, so didnt i remember seeing some airconditioning stuff ? what did you use for a heater and airconditioner?

i went with an aftermarket heater, underdash mount style, have used them in the past and work great, they just revamped to give the defroster more umph. In Colorado, it gets hot, but if your in the shade, it cools you right down, so the A/C wasnt an option for this.

Man, i pray that never happens, for the animal or us, but preparation is a must

Brought it down to a friends with forklift to record compression and extension for shocks. Definetly need to install 1" longer bump stops.
Although simulated with the forklift, i was happy with the amount of flex, it will probably never get that maxed out, as rolling over sucks and hurts my wallet. But it is nice to have a broad range of articulation, combined with a tight and powerful drivetrain with an automatic.

Tommorrow it goes in to have exhaust re routed and a smaller muffler.....unfortunately will have to go with a 6" x 18" round Magnaflow as opposed to the nice and quieter rectangular. The clearances are a little too tight to tranny for my liking, and need to put a few newer bends.

A few more.......

33" to the bottom of front wheel, not too shabby..........Did notice the tie rod touches front leaf on pass. side under maximum compression and the Currie anti rock rubs on inside of tires in rear so these will be addressed when returned.
