Dreading this, fixing a leak in the 55 gallons gas tank. The first time I have filled up all 55 gallons and it leaks out the top. Dreading this one.

Alright, after a new job, life and summer vacations are out of the way we are back.

Thanks to @greenbeast for selling me his '77 blue beauty donor pig.

The amazing thing is the owner previous to green east kept meticulous notes and detailed records and receipts of all the work done. Including travel logs.

Got him home safely from Colorado to Utah and parked next to his big brother.

I was calling him Old Blue but my daughter has named her Blue Belle, so he is now a she.

I have a rough vision of what I want out of the two. Expect more build posts in the coming days. First step, remove the blue bowtie, then get Blue Belle running.

Old Man Tan update
The last few weeks I have been slowly grinding and cutting away the floor. It is almost ready to start cutting and welding in the replacement parts. I buy more cleanup to do.

Home Depot buckets for the win for a temporary seat.

Blue Belle Updates
Removed the bow tie, she is looking better already. Waiting for a new starter solenoid to come in this afternoon. Luckily it is wired for two batteries and the solenoid was easy access.

Fingers crossed that is all that is needed to get her to turn over

Was hoping for easy fix for you.

@greenbeast did not lie. Blue Belle runs like a bat out of hell.

I finally found the correct starter to purchase. Putting the part number on the actual starter pulled up the wrong screw pattern. So I just started looking up "Chevy Corvette Starter" then years 1955-1963. Finally found it for the 1963 Corvette.

The joy of havinga Toyota with a Chevy engine and transmission.

I driver her around the block, she runs like a champ. No issues shifting through the gears except my lack of driving a manual for 15 years.

Next step, basic maintenance of changing fluids, checking brakes, etc.

Fun side note, according to this letter I have an electric wench. I didn't know they had those back in the 80's.

Wow, you got the other @greenbeast Pig!!!

It seems like you don't see too many '77 Pigs around. I wonder why?

I love all the records they kept!

Well, good news is the bow tie is gone.

There was a setup for two batteries. There was on solenoid that I replaced that was easy access. No luck.

So I removed the two battery setup and power to the winch, a Wern M5687 but no luck. Tomorrow or Monday I will work on the starter.

Someone did a real number on that front bumper!

I was just thinking about this rig the other day.
If it wouldn’t be too much trouble, could you take some pics of the inside of the doors where the outer door skins wrap around and pinch to the inside? I’d like to see how Colorado has treated these areas on this rig.

Those sections are actually doing really well, a bit of rust at the upper portion.
