I just finished my 2 year long project, and now I want to share it with some people who might appreciate it. It has a few bugs at the moment but nothing major at all.
Specs:
1971 land cruiser, complete frame off and new body.
Dana 60 front and 14 bolt rear
Np205 connected to a NV4500
HMMWV wheels and tires (took run flats out)
Dakota digital dash
6bt from 94 dodge (complete rebuild)
90hp injectors
Bigger plungers
4k spring
Typical p7100 tuneing
Water to air intercooler
Bestop full soft top and bikini top

It's a pretty insane ride (I think) for a first build.

Thanks for checking it out

Pretty cool, I assume you have a vacuum pump for the brakes???

Yea the 6bt came with one on the LH of the engine. It connects to the power steering pump as well. I'm using a stock toyota brake booster (I'm not sure out of what) and it's adapted to a chevy master.

I've personally never driven a stock fj40 but... the ride quality isn't too bad. I have both the semi tractor batteries in the back which evens the weight out quite well and it should get better once I put on the spare tire. I also made the wheelbase longer. It's pretty quick for an fj, pulls hard to 70mph then I chicken out. It feels like it just wants to rip itself apart but the track bar in back keeps it in check. I boxed in the whole frame and made the roll bar integral to the frame as well which I'm sure stiffens up everything.

Did you have to modify the firewall much for the 6bt to fit? Would be interested in better pictures of the engine bay.

The only point which I cut into the firewall was for the exhaust manifold on the RH side. It was a very small cut and I just boxed it in.

More pics and details of suspension. , frame. , engine and drivetrain
When I first took her out for the first few test runs she had pretty significant deathwobble. But I did some adjusting with the rear shackles on the front axle and took the run flats out which eliminated the problem all together.
I'm running a custom spring packs in all four corners. They're pretty much just two fj40 spring packs put together on either side to compensate for the weight. And in the back it's an fj60 spring pack that has a few added spring packs on either side.
I have a top mount steering linkage in the front with a steering box mounted on the side of the frame which I managed to plum into the dodge steering pump.
If you want any more pictures of something specific let me know. I've personally never seen a 6bt fj40 besides one (a tan fj40 bikini top with a rotary pump 12v) and there wasn't any info on it at all. All I know now is that it can be done, is it easy? Easier than I thought but still not a walk in the park.

Do you or could you put a video up on YouTube of some road driving?? Debating on doing a common rail swap..
Yeah for sure... but it’s gonna be a bit, I live in the best part of the USA but they have a tendency to use all the salt on the road for winter so she probably won’t make an appearance till spring. And the axles are out of it as well due to a regearing and axle narrowing.
