Sweet build. I love it. Right down to the seats!

Great execution of this project, done in the blink of a eye;)...

When I was at Radd Cruisers I measured up a couple 80s and s60 frames, this is exactly how I would of did this conversion if I would of jumped into a simular project..

Only thing I might of done is an extra brace on the front stiffener bar...they tend to crack on the 80s with big tires...

Those seats are a super deal, really dig them..

Thanks guys. It's been a fun build. Going to get started on the bumpers and rock sliders soon.

The only thing I am thinking of changing is putting in a 700R4 over the NV4500. I really don't like how noisy that tranny is. I've read up a little on the NV4500 and it seems they all make a whining sound at higher speeds. Anyone now these trannys well?

My NV4500 makes noise only in 5th at highway speeds. It bugs me, but I thought that was something wrong with my specific transmission.

Fixed it. It was the t-case. All nice and quiet. I think I'll keep the set-up.

FYI... Didn't keep the set up. Went with the 700R4. Like it so much better.

I like the quarter protection... bit different that most I've seen.

Thanks. I plan on adding some small hoops for additional protection on the rear quarters and finish off the top to cover the view of the frame. I am also going to redo the swing out arm. I think I will go all the way across with a 2x3 tube instead of the tubing.

Well since safari guard doesn't make there FJ60 bumper anymore and I don't like paying the $$$ for one, I decided to try and make one myself. First pic here is of the safari guard bumper. All the following are my progress on my attempt. I must say I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

here are the rest of them. It's not an exact replica but I dig it. I made it fit as snug as possible against the front.

how do you like your firewall clearance and distance from your radiator core to water pump? Seems like I've read some of the older threads where guys with the nv4500 ran into issues with the shift tower of the nv4500 being to for forward and having a few issues with clearing the dash/heater duct?

Have you gotten it fully running and everything operational? From the pics I assume so..

Thanks guys! the NV4500 is long gone. I have a 700r4 now. I was able to tuck it right in place for the shifter when I did it. You need to use block huger headers or rams horn manifolds. You need to pouch the 350 almost all the way back.

Well I totally decided to go on a run last weekend very last minute. Went to china wall to test it out. Lockers work awesome, had some cooling issues going up the hills on the highways (fixed that by getting rid of the toyota radiator and taurus fan and put in a chevy truck radiator and shroud and mechanical fan), flexed great! (too great, my drivers rear spring popped out but we were able to put it back in by flexing it out again - haha - still need to remedy that). here are some pics on the trail...
