I also did some more testing of the rear sway bar.

I very happy with the way the truck flexes, it feels way more stable when doing these tests with the new sway bar then previous test in this same spot with out the sway bar.
The problem is that it look like the top Heim Joint was maxing out, I was following the lead of another member and turned the Heim 90 degrees for more clearance between the tire and frame ( see the last picture )So i pulled them to check sure enough both top heim joints are damaged. Unfortunately both the arms have been modified, so now I either buy new arms or cut and modify the ends in a way that they will fit and be in the correct orientation.:bang:🤷‍♂️

Press the arms like I did. Or cut off the end and reweld it in its normal config. Should have just left the hardware alone and only pressed the arms like I did.

You dont need to buy a whole new set. You can buy replacement heims from rockjock currie

Should have could have would have, Pressing them won't help, it's cut and weld or new arms from currie 🤷‍♂️

Would mounting the bar beneath the frame rails keep your issue from happen? I haven’t read it this problem from two other members who did mint is beneath the frame.

My stock sway bar took a major beating recently with both end links and their brackets bent. Still works though....

The bar location has nothing to do with it. read to hole post I turn the heims 90 degrees to there operating position. ( wondered about it when I was doing it, should have listened to my sixth sense.
The Sway bar works excellent the way it is, better then I expected, I just need to get the heim joints in the proper orientation.

Cut them off and reweld the correct way. No need for new. Its fixable. You are over thinking a simple bar and nut
That My MO, I over think everything that why it takes me so long to get things done.
I don't want it cutting into my tires like some of the other rockjock's out there. ;)
The reason I was thinking of new arm is to go with the aluminum ( more weight savings ) and there straight already. but there 3/4" thick and that not going to help.

I was under the impression that you rotated the joints because it was necessary.

I was to, it's very tight in there. I well need to cut the bolt short at the least or tap threads into the arms for proper clearance.
I'm not sure maybe my Reg has fore flex then PVHOBO reg, I was following his lead 🤷‍♂️

Not sure what I'm going to do with it, but I brought this home yesterday.
It's a locked 95 clean title and runs good, definitely rough around the edges but I got it for a song and it's a rust free Calif car. That i think could be brought back  View attachment 2684007
I took the hose to it, Wife said that it doesn't look as bad as I made it sound.

Let me know what you-all think.

Ute chop! 😁

Cheers

I was able to find these, they have 65 degrees of misalignment compared to the 50 degrees with the one I had.

I got them installed and went over to my urban craw wall for testing, there not over extending. I'm going to try these before I start modifying the arms again.

Thanks for reminding me. I just took mine off and pressed a little bend back into my arms. I pressed it flat originally and it just barely contacted the inside of the sidewall on full stuff. It didn't chew up the sidewall or anything but just rubbed off some dirt.

Now with the 2cm bend inward toward the frame it should clear the sidewall. Similar to what you just did but just with pressing the arms inward.

Hope this helps you with yours.

I shipped my drive shaft back to tom woods DS today, in talking with them the splines were extended 11/4" farther then they should be at ride height.
They originally built the drive shaft for me and there going to re-tube it to the correct length, balance it and send it back including shipping for $70.00 seems like a deal to me.
It was off because the axle was moved forward 🤷‍♂️ after the shaft was made.
Customer service is great, turn around time is fast. They said I should have it back with in a week of them receiving it.

They should have the 1350 rear DC shaft on hand by now. Just in case anyone is in the market for a rear DC shaft. Sand Hollow....

Got my DS back, turns out there was some wear on the DC end. So I had that replaced and while they had it apart I had them replace the u-joints as well.

I was doing My per-run inspection and found that the wheel bearings were just a tad lose. So for peace of mind I pulled it apart to have a look-see.

Everything was looking good, so I cleaned it all up regressed the bearings and button it back up. I could have just tighten them up but this well give peace of mind on the trail.

I was getting a little rub at the the bumper so I did some trimming while the tires were off.
