I've seen rigs on 35s make it out under their own power with two studs put back in the holes, a bumper bolt jammed into one hole to stop it from puking birf soup everywhere, then a stick, whittled to the approximate size jammed into the fourth hole to also stop leaking.

And people wonder why I love my cruiser. A major part is broken, but no worries, I've got sticks and a small piece of metal. Only in a Cruiser.

Not necessarily a Land Cruiser specific thing. Broken crossmember, don't remember the reason why. When the ratchet straps aren't enough, you need to get resourceful and use things like camshafts. :hillbilly:

 Damn fine McGivering Skills there Richard.. !!!

We Only use ours off-road (Rubicon and Barrett Lake) with 40's on stock steering. We were frequently breaking studs (also broke a sector shaft). Replaced nearly all of the studs with ARP (instead of doing them all at once, we just replace the ones that break). We also started torking at the end of each day. Have not had a broken stud in a year (but we did taco a drag link And replaced it with a custom HD). I check torque before each use and sometimes halfway thru a day. I am interested in Nukegoat's set up. He says he has hydro assist on stock setup. That is what I'm looking for.

Wheel spacers put a lot of extra stress on the steering components.. i tacod the drag link in the same way - tire was trying to climb a rock while I was coming down a hill. Rather than climb, it forced a left turn into the rock and the steering box wasnt having it so the drag link gave.

Anyway i run stock knuckles and steering arm(s) with hydro assist but i have had the nuts loosen up on me. Never broken like you have though.
Do you have a thread with pics of your hydro assist setup

I would think ARP knuckle studs and proper PM will cure 99% of anyones issues. I'm yet to have any issues personally other than the occasional loosening despite blue lock tight. ARP knuckle's will be part of my next axle service regardless. I did the ARP hub studs on my last service.

Why spend the money on the ARP studs if you're planning on staying on top of the maintainance?

The factory studs hold up fine unless they're neglected.

Yeah they do until they don't. No issue going with something stronger on a part like this that is simply a fastener.

Full disclosure when I did my rebuild I just went with the updated OEM studs, because I didn't have time to wait and Beno got them to me in 2 days.
