yes. on the 4Runner the added weight and a little neglect ended up settling them a bit.
then more camping weigh required them to be added back to stay off the bumps.
Did you like the ride with the softer springs? I can see the load capacity being an issue but this truck might not need to carry much.

yes. these have been really good.
the ride i think is subjective. it rides good but still drives like a crawler.
i recently went sky fronts and I am really digging those. huge ride improvement from RUF

I didn’t want to crank the torsion bars too much, so I pulled a few leads on mine to level it back to out. Ride quality changed a little for the better, but not as much as I hoped. I used OME, and I had to keep the bottom short one and pulled the next two short ones. Load capacity goes way down.

The project has taken a turn.

Alright. It's been a few months of figuring out what to do with this truck, specifically the motor situation. But I think we've finally got a solid plan after entertaining a 5VZ swap, a 3RZ swap and even an LS swap. We're keeping things simple and not tackling any of those options and the plan to to purchase a new 22RE Stroker from LC Engineering in the next few weeks. Then it should be a relatively quick turnaround to have it back on the road once we get our hands on the motor since we're not changing anything.

Hopefully be back to update this thread more soon.

Been looking at one of those. Would love to know your thoughts when you get it. Good luck!

The head gasket is blown on my 22re, needs a complete rebuild anyways, but definitely interested in how that LCE engine does, long block is always an option.

Yeah I'm anxious to see how this stroker longblock does as well. I'm hopeful that it trouble free for a while.

Still doing break-in miles on the new motor but so far she's running great! Fires right up even in cold 7* temps we had yesterday morning. Power feels good. It's not like a "holy crap! where did all this power come from?!" but feels like a good strong 22RE. Now I need to tackle some other things, like rebuilding the front axle and I want to add a oil pressure gauge and possibly a more accurate temp gauge. The tie rod ends all need to be replaced so I'll be doing that as well.
