Are any of these on the shelf ready to ship?

Next batch should be ready in a couple weeks. I still have 3 sets out of the next batch that are not sold.

How are these tires offroad. I assume the compound is pretty hard but you could air down quite a bit with the double beadlocks. Would they be crap on the Rubicon........how about Moab?

Which ones? You can currently get the old GY MT, GY MTR, and BFG Baja's in military surplus.

Thats why I was looking for some more info. It looks like the bfg's are the newer style. The new non military tires that are out now have some sticky compounds. If the military versions "wear like steel", they may not hold well in "slickrock" conditions. I dont have a ton of tire experience. I love the idea of this combo and am seriously considering buying the adapters.

From what I've heard, the Goodyear MTR is the one to get. Best traction, and the newest tire to be introduced to the surplus market.

Oh I think Cody C was assuming you mean the actual hub but thinking about that, it makes no sense at all, the 60 hub wouldn't fit over the 80 housing. haha.

You should be fine.

Now you got me confused.

On my 92, I have removed the drive flange and installed AISIN part time hubs from a 60 series.

The width of the 60 series AISIN part time hub in larger then the drive flange (Wont interfere with wheels being mounted) and the wheel or adapter should not ride on that part of the hub anyway.

Even if the spacer puts the hummer wheel close to the hub, it should still be larger then the AISIN/drive flange and not touch that section from what I can tell.

I will be going with these adapter. I am concerned with the rim not being true, i'm on a very tight budget and with the set of HMMWV BF Goodrich 37" Tires on 16.5" steel wheels I found on CL for 500.00 this gets me just what I am wanting within my budget. Thanks for all the great input guys!!

I bought adapters from an online place years ago to do this job on my 40 series with 80 axles. They move the H1 wheel to zero offset which may not fit. Price is about half what your website lists since they are smaller I suppose. Not hub centric either.

One thing to consider, the military tires come in "D" and "E" rating and some have a rim protector. When you buy tires, be sure and ask what you are getting.

so now this thread is about 4-6months old, do we have any one out there who has used these and if so what do you think, looks fairly straigh forward, just mount some tires and bolts these puppies on.

cheers

I think I've lost one persons order in our database. One of you guys had dropped by locally here and ordered a set for pickup for an FZJ80 with no fender flares. If you see this message and that is you, please contact me, your wheel adapters are ready for pickup.

Anyone have any feedback? Any others member pics? Looks great. Very cool option to have.

I love the look of the wheels on my LX, but I have a slight balancing issue between 30-40 that I am working on. I'll take a pic or two this weekend and post. My usual tire shop says it is going to be hard to spin 37's on their machine and that I should take them to a truck shop to see which one/s have the issue. I put them together myself and I have no experience doing this, so I'm assuming I didn't do something exactly right in assembly.

so any members with pictures and a review of them? im looking into getting some H1's and 37x12.5 treadwright bulldogs (km1 Tread pattern) also does anyone have any experience with any of the above listed military surplus tires in snow and ice as i live in CO and these will see their fair share of those conditions. as of now the trailworthy that i would want are 1700+ for 4 this seems like a much cheaper solution. Also Backtash any world on that rock ring you talked about earlier in the thread?

I have lots of experience on this rims and tires I own 3 H1 with same rims and military tires

First of all 90% of the time ppl forget that those rims have O ring seal when u split them and most of the time u have to replace the seal when u change the tires . Those seals are only 10 bucks . There are 2 kinds of 12 bolt rims one is rated as 3850 lb and one is 3450 the only way to tell is , 3850 has one balancing hole in between two studs . Those rims take orange color thin ORing seal . Lots of ppl make mistake by using black thick ORing made for early 8 bolt rims . That one of the problems with balancing

On the 3450 rims u can use the outer half of the rim with inner half of the 3850 rim

DONT USE early 8 bolt rims !!! Those are made for 30 psi max bias ply tires

Every one of those rims 3450 and 3850 or the 8 bolt once are made to be used with run flats inside them and small need lock . When u use those together ur rims become double beed locked , and u can drop the psi. To 8 with no problems .

Next is the tightening the bolts around the rim
First stage is 80 psi on torque Setting and the second is 130 psi . Of course using correct tightening pattern ;)

They will balance 100% and u will absolutely. Love the rims

Now tires ;) don't buy early wrangler OZ tires they are bias ply made to be used on early 8 bolt rims

Next one is good year mt tires non directional radial tire Very good tire on any condition performs awesome , downside is. Side wall is not strong .

Goodyear MTR is awesome. In every way

And last BFG. Looks perfect and is the best one so far I have used

Any one of those tires can be found easily brand new surplus around 800 a set or less

I hope this helps

Eric

I forgot to mention about 24 bolt rims , those are even stronger than 12 bolts and they also come in 2 different types
However is is 100% over kill for land cruiser. . Those rims are good for up to 16,000 lb gvw And the 12 bolt rims are good for up to 13,000 lb

For those who don't want to use the run flats inside the rims to make double locked units ,

( like myself ) I prefer to get one single unit bead lock from AM GENERAL , they are expensive 450 bucks each , but they take out the run flats out of the game ,

Run flats work fine if u prefer to use them , and they may come in to use if u don't have spare , I personally don't have run flats because I always have spare, keep in mind that full rim and tire combo with run flats is over 140 lb each

but there are alternatives to that also . On eBay u can find PVC beed locks for much cheaper and they work just as good

One more fact about those hummer tires , they use special compound inside them that make then ozone resistant in other words it won't crock in a year or two they can be parked for 15 years under the sun and u can start and drive ur truck without tire problem
