They key to warm feet is socks more than boots. Bring twice as many socks as you normally wear. It's the moisture trapped in your socks that saps away the heat. The higher the wool content, the better. Wool is the only fiber that will still insulate if it gets wet. Thick cotton, polyester or nylon won't keep you warm as soon as they get damp. Change your socks right before you go to bed (also warm them up in front of your heater) and your feet will stay warmer throughout the night.

Been a stressful week. Going to consider my alcohol options as well. Will be up sometime after lunch.
Is it the Sam's Knob or Ivestor Gap trail to get to the camping area? I've ridden Ivestor Gap on my mtn bike and remember it being a double track.
Ivester gap. Basically if you get on the road and pass hikers who give you dirty looks then you are on the right trail.
