The interior trims look great, did they press the trim lines on individual request or are they standard. On another note I think I read you have FRP flares from oz , how did you find the quality of the FRP flares are they flimsy thin, or quite sturdy and strong, as I'm looking at either factory flares or opting for FRP. The rig is looking great, you doing a quality job, cheers

He tried to match the trim lines to the factory lines. I think you can put them wherever you want.

On the FRP flares, I think they are sturdy. Given a choice and availability, I would have opted for factory flares though.

Do you have factory ones available?

just a heads up, the factory flares are very thin and easily busted ...
they do look nice.
i did try and get Gozzard to make up some HD factory copies but i couldn't get 10 orders together.

Ahhh--haven't really seen a factory flare in person, so I didn't know that.

Thanks for the heads up

I've located some but they are not a full complete set, 2 flares broken.
Factory option is my preference, but the FRP looks pretty good, ....... I'm sure you can still order new flares from toyota (japan) if need be, although looking at $1250-1500 a set , ( lot of money for plastic) I can't justify at the moment , hence the FRP option may be the way $480 $AUD

Yeah--that's pretty pricey for factory flares.

The FRP ones fit nice, you just had to work with them to get a straight line across the top of them, and to keep gaps out between the rubber and the body, especially on the corners. I'm kind of pickey that way. I found that putting a piece of paper between the body and the rubber allowed me to pull the centers up and get them aligned, and get the rubber straight.

How did you go getting those mirrors out, any luck, I've tried and was weary of breaking, any tips?

I did not get the mirrors out----yet

I thought I would post up some pics. Got the Mirrors painted and installed without taking the glass out.

I also painted the old grill, and set it in place, along with the new Chrome grill. What do you think? I am leaning to the chrome one.

Lastly, I had a grill DIESEL emblem from a BJ42. How do you think it looks under the TURBO emblem.

black, other than door handles, what else is chrome?
the black ties well with the flares, mirrors, window rubbers etc.
you asked.

I vote chrome however I am biased because I have chrome mirrors and running boards. Either would look very nice.

Go with the chrome grille. Turbo emblem only. How does the size of that turbo emblem compare to the one on the tailgate?

I noticed that you chose to leave the RHD antenna in place.

My TURBO rear emblem is missing, so I don't know. The grill one is delisted also. I Left the Antenna there because that fender has the hole!

how did you do that? the 'chrome' plating is coming off in places on my mirrors, and I like how yours turned out. any tips and suggestions?

I used a DA sander with 180 grit. It didn't take all the chrome off, but roughed it up where it wasn't lifting, and took all the lifted chrome off. Hand sanded the rest. For the front, I taped up the glass, and just pushed the mirror around and sanded where I could reach. I painted it with plastic bumper paint. We will see how it will last.

Door Handles, trim on the FRP top and along the windshield sides, the channel in the rear glass and the running boards are chrome

Fair enuf....:)

What does your grille turbo emblem measure and is it plastic?

Most vehicles have the antenna on the right side, so I didn't think twice about it

I'll measure the emblem tonight. it might look good on the back! You would just need to cut the stud off. It is plastic

Good thought! if it works, do you have any extras?

No, I don't and my grille emblem is missing. I have a decent rear one that I may be able to get copies made of. If they are the same size it would be fairly easy to put them where ever you want.
