if you actually going to USE the PTO then factory sells a larger one, drill and insert. works very well.
the original size pin is great for a winch that isn't going to see application.
nail works well
bolt is great for those that PAY ATTENTION but will cause serious damage in unattentive hands.
I think std is 4.3mm and next size is 5mm.

well, yes and no.
the PTO itself is VERY robust.
one young kid i know had a PTO on the front of his BJ70, he replaced the pin with a small bolt.
after winching out of a hole in Wiperous he disconnected from the tree, wound the cable in. got out and bragged how great the PTO is compared to the trusted 8274 ... jumped back in his truck and started to drive down the trail.
seems as he was driving away the winch was still engaged and CRUSHED his front bumper.
ooops
so, as i pointed out, IF you are going with something other than a sheer pin you best be attentive to what you are doing.
crap, is this ruining this thread? if so i will delete.
yes, that is normal to have slop at the winch end. relax and enjoy
The meter shows 24.02V on the input side. This system has a battery. Maybe it is charging at that level. The light shows chargingJust for grins, does your meter actually show 24v on the input side? If that number is also high perhaps your meter is wacky.
