You have a picture of that valve just so I am sure? Remember, whatever VSV is running it may be in a different place now

You have a picture of that VSV valve. It's the one you relocated from the engine to the firewall.

The 13B-T has a manual shut-off valve directly below the glowscreen assembly on the air intake. Just push on the lever to stall the engine. No disconnecting or disassembly required. It works every time.

Oh. That one. Got it. Thanks

I learn more about my truck every day

So the arm should be extended to stop, which is the position it is in now.

Since it was disassembled, there is no vacuum in the system. will it build up quickly, or will I need to hold the lever uo for initial start

Its actually extended to run, and gets pulled in to stop. Vacuum gets applied to the diaphragm to shut it off

Makes sense, and confirms that I think in reverse!. Thanks for the info.

Going to fire it up this weekend, as I will need to push it outside. Going to be 25 degrees. Doesn't sound like much, but that is a nice warming compared to what it has been. Working on getting the carpet, seats, kick panels in this week. Then reassemble the doors, windows.

Not sure how much I will get done. I am traveling to the Dakota's for my moms birthday. She turns 95 on Friday

Well the weather changed plans a little. Record cold moving in. So outside wasn't an option. I did get the carpet, seats, kick panels, in. I did get the windows back into the doors, and they work. Power locks are a little weak, but they work.

Windshield frame back in. Going to check out the rear lights, wire in the trailer wiring. I will finalize the rear when I get a bumper.

Moving along quite quickly now.

Good to hear it's progressing despite the 'global warming'.

You're understandably busy, but a few pics would be welcome.

I thought about that last night. Need pics! Will get some today

A few pics of the interior in the truck. I put a REDARC 24 to 12V converter for trailer lights. Tucked nicely in the rear quarter panel.

Also a pic of the rear end without bumper. I don't have one yet. So the trailer hookup is just sitting there until I get a bumper, as I don't know where it will end up.

I think I have dropped my camera too many times, as the pics don't always turn out . Blurry on the sides sometimes.

I plan on taking the rear sill plate back off and painting it as new ones are not available. Otherwise going together pretty good.

Steering column is the RHD column. Just have to get used to the turn signals and wipers being on opposite sides

Wiper motor problem

I was going through the electrical checkout, and I could not get the front wiper motor to work. It just gets warm when powered. I had another LHD wiper motor, and I plugged it in, and it worked fine, just a little fast, I think? Couldn't really tell since it was not mounted. I believe it is the LHD 12V motor from the BJ70. But I have no way to tell, as the housing was too rusty to find anything.. I don't know what is 12V and what is 24V on the units. I swapped the motor from the non working unit to the working unit, and it did not work in their either. So I am thinking it must be a bad motor

I think the wiring is done right, as the spare motor worked on interval, low and high speed.

So it looks like I am in the market for a 24V LHD wiper motor. The non working one I sourced from another MUD member, so I would like to get a WORKING one this time. I don't know if they are available new, as I have no way to determine what is 12V and what is 24V from toydiy.

HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED ON THIS MATTER.

The rear frame cross member didn't seem sturdy enough to me. So I had a local shop form a channel out of 1/4" steel to go over the cross member and extend past the frame on the sides. It's bolted to the frame at the tow loop and receiver hitch, and at the frame ends. The stock bumper attaches to that. I've kept the original look of the truck while the channel is the actual bumper protection for the body.

i am not using the stock bumper, so I am not sure what I will be able to do. Good idea though! I'll look into it.

I found it. It was working when I removed it about 5 years ago. Man, time to get my project done :-)

I would be interrested in it if you want to sell it. PM me.

I did some swapping around, so much that I am not sure if I got it right, but here is what I did.

when I wired up the 12V unit, it worked, the 24V didn't. 12V Ran fast though
I put the 24V motor onto the 12V unit, didn't work.
I put the 12V motor into the 24V unit, didn't work.

BUT---when I put the 24V unit back together like I started, and put the outer part of the motor with the magnets on it, it didn't work. I changed just the outer unit with the magnets from the working 12V onto the 24V, it worked! seemed to run slower like it was supposed to. . The 12V motor does not work with the housing from the 24V motor, but it did with the 12V housing. It appears the outer part with the magnets was the issue? Seems like it would not make the difference, but it did

So I am going with that.

COLDTACO--I am still interested in your motor if you want to sell it.

no, but you could contact Akella4X4 and ask him.

It comes up invalid on the US master. The only vehicle I can pull up that uses this part number is 86-87 Canadian BJ70. I presume it's long-gone, but it is worth asking him.
