Oh yeah---i did fire it this weekend! I plugged it in for a few hours. I got the wires for the glow screen in order, and they didn't fry! There was a small POP in the intake at the end of the glow. I assume is was a little fuel, or solvent on the glow screen that burnt. It fired after about 10 seconds of cranking. Pretty noisy until the oil got flowing, then it was nice and quiet. Ran it for about 10 minutes. No turbo boost registered on the gauge, even when I revved it up. Green light on the tach didn't come on either.

Oil Pressure was at 75
EGT about 600

Hmmmmm.

Radio didn't work either. I may just take it out and get a new one. I am not sure if it worked in the car I took it out of either

No, I don't and my grille emblem is missing. I have a decent rear one that I may be able to get copies made of. If they are the same size it would be fairly easy to put them where ever you want.

My back door turbo emblem is 5 and 1/8 inches long and 1 and 1/16 inches high.

The front emblem is the exact same size measured at the top of the t and b, and the width measured from the crossbar of the t. All in lower case, as the picture shows. It does have a stud for mounting and a couple of locating tabs. It could easily be mounted with 2 small black screws through the emblem at the t and the b and held with a strap in the back of it. Then you could use it as flat for the rear door, or use it on the grill

Keith (Diesel42) also sells some "diesel" and "turbo" badges made in aluminum. I've read that he can make a red turbo one, though not sure how identical to the factory one it would be.

Below is the FS thread that he created (not affiliated, just passing along the information):

OK then. I need to find a 3D printer and get mine copied. It could them be used at either end of the truck.

Cool.

I bet there would be several people that would like them. I wouild like at least two myself. Even if they are "raw" I can paint them.

I have a guy looking into right now as well.

I bought a "Turbo" badge from Keith. Great quality. The badge is tapped for threaded studs he provides, along with locking nuts. Let him know you want it for a 70 series so he can add in a bar to go inside the grill.
Beware however, he is chatty!
Peter

I believe his are rectangular blocks like the "Diesel" emblem.

I talked to a guy on the emblem. He thought that just doing a 3D print would not be best. Might not stand up to the heat, sun may break it down. He is going to take the emblem I have and make a mold, then cast one with epoxy resin. Hasn't figured a cost yet, but I figure it is worth a try. If we can cast the front one, you can use it in the back by cutting off the tabs. We will see how it goes. If he can do it for a decent price, we may be able to produce them. OEM emblems run about $40+ so I hope he can get near that number. Painting the red may be a little more. Maybe he can pour red in first, then black? I don't know. New territory and totally out of my expertise.

Me too.

My 3D guys will discuss it tomorrow. Painting adds to the cost but they could be delivered raw for the end user to paint in whatever manner. That would reduce the cost and add sweat equity.

I finished up the rear windows tonight. New Rubber, remove the crappy looking window film. That proved to be a challenge. I pealed off what I could, then razor bladed between the defrost lines. Finished it off with a decal removal disc. Really worked great. The disc is pictured first. It's like a big eraser. Works great on decals, and worked great on this.

I actually got pretty good at putting the chrome strips back in, once I figured out how to to it. I thing it would be almost impossible with the windows installed. Took about 5 minutes per window with them on the bench. Luckily I had 2 sets of glass, so I used the best pieces of chrome for these windows.

What are these for?????

I had these in a bag with some other parts, marked "Core Support Hardware"

I knew what everything else was in the bag, but not these 6 plastic things. They have a hole through them.

I don't know if they came off the BJ70 or the BJ74, but I can't find a place for them. The square part is too big for any square hole I could find.

Anybody know?

My glass guy told me to use ammonia to lift the tint film. I haven't got that far yet.

They almost look like headlamp bucket bushings.

They are indeed headlamp bucket bushings. 81124-90K00.

They should be there to keep the buckets from rubbing metal-to-metal. It also makes adjustment easier.

Moving forward, I got the ARB bumper, PTO Winch and foglights put on today. I wired the foglights in the same circuit as the parking lights, so I have to have them or the headlights on to run the them. Still have to tie up the wires, put the PTO driveshaft on, and then figure out what I am going to use for a sheer pin.

Probably get the wires tied up, and the hood on tomorrow. I have the Toyota grill emblem on it's way, so I have to wait to put the grill in. Still need a rear bumper, get the headliner in, bolt the top on, get windows in, and that's about it! Sounds simple, huh!

Oh Yeah--haven't decided on the wheels yet :frown:
