Those pictures are awesome they help out a ton.....I think there is a little variation in the steup but not much. Thanks for those pictures.

Cool thanks D. I was actually able to find one of those brakets in my box of goodies out of my 76. So I do have one. The only thing is that I will need one for the 76 when I go to revert it back to stock. But I do have it all mounted up on the firewall. I just need to get my gas peddle to be the correct angle to hook the arm onto it now.

T, I think the stock one for a '77 should have a hook on it to hold the speedometer cable in place. I don't think the '76 one has that...

Correct.....atleast the one that I found had a little hook that came off the front of it and I ran the speedo cable through it. It looks like it just fit perfect so I assumed thats what the hook was for. Thanks for the clarification on that though.

Hey guys,

So today I have had a little time to get some work done on the cruiser. So I have been working on getting the rear doors mounted correctly(still) and I am making progress with that. I had Clarence come over and help me out. I do need to do some tweaking on them still.

I also was able to get the carb linkige all mounted and fastend down so that I can hook up the fuel lines that are supposed to be here tomorrow, and finsish the fuel system anyway. I also installed a new fuel pump and filter so like I said it should be ready to go. I will aslo post some pictures of the linkige for the carb and peddle just so we all know what it looks like.

Along with that I was able to get the electronic ignition started to. I got the old distributer pulled and the new one from Dallas installed. I will start working on that tonight.

Now for the help I need. I need to know how the new wiring is going to look with the elctronic ignition. The ignitor pack is totally diffirent then the old points system one is. So if you guys have done this before help me out please.....Pictures always help. Im a slow learner. : ) Thanks again guys.

As far as I know, you HEI should only require switched 12v. Thats it... easy breezy lemon squeezy...

Well that makes it easy....what about the connectors that come off the igniter pack? where do they go?

Well I got my fuel lines in the mail the other day so I went to work on them....they were of course coverd in grease and oil so I soked them for a little while but I wanted to see how they fit. So here are some pics.

My question comes on this next picture...If you can see the send line is facing the wrong direction then what the line off the carb is facing. Im assuming that these are lines off an early or later model. Not sure, but I think I can get them to work. Thoughts on how to bend the line????

Crap I spoke to soon! I just looked at your picture again and now I see your problem. I would first check the LPS to see if you can find a connection work around because bending that back in the other direction will probably work, but look like Sh@! Just my opinion. If you can't get that to work then just bent your own lines all together and use the old lines as your template.

Cool....thanks for the pic and I am half tempted to try and bend my own now that I have something to go off of. I will keep you posted.

Hey guys sorry it has been so long since have updated but I have been super busy with the Holidays and work.

So just to catch up and ask a couple more questions I have been working on the electronic ignition conversion so hopefully some of you have gone through this before and can assist.

Off the igniter that I have there is two wires I'm not sure about. They go into the same clamp so I'm sure they run along side to something else. One looks to be a light brown and the other a light yellow?......I also have two wires coming off the starter coil, one is YB and the other is solid red. Where do these go? Thanks again for the help and if pictures help let me know and I can get some.

VERY COOL BUILD......absolutely love the color, that was my second choice, very tough looking. Tubing benders are cheap, Home Depot carries them, or the redneck way to bend light tubing is with a long spring (from the hardware store) that has the same or close to it ID as the od of the tubing, then just bend it with your hands, the spring will retain the shape of the tubing and resist it from kinking.

Ok need some help identifying these wires

This first picture is in the main wiring harness.

These come off the starter. The YB and solid red

This one also comes off the igniter solid black.

Just need some help finding where these all go. Thanks!

Running HEI, those wires will need to be re-routed. They all normally went to your ignitor assembly iirc.

Red and white went from ignitor to to dizzy, white with black is ground, black and yellow is switched power, with pig tail going to POS term on coil, other end on starter, black went to the neg term on the coil from ignitor. Dont know about the Yellow and blue wire...?

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure... Now with HEI, you throw all that out the window and reroute stuff.

Sooo, run the black and yellow to starter, with pig tail to HEI dizzy. I think thats it...
