I do still need help identifying the vacum lines on the side of the carb.

I looked it up for you.

The INSIDE (port closest to the distributor) is the advance line.

The OUTSIDE (port farthest from the distributor) is supplimental advance routed through the HAC.

Hook the INSIDE line to the vacuum port just behind the idle adjustment screw.
Hook the OUTSIDE line to the vacuum port just in front of the idle adjustment screw.

Both of these lines can route underneath the air cleaner assembly.

Ha en bra dag broder!

lol Talk ska du har for hjelpen!!

'77 doesn't have HAC?

And you should only have one port on the distributor, if you're stock '77 Federal. I guess California has two ports on the dizzy. Haynes manual, pages 88 and 89 have diagrams.

Correct I am doing electronic ignition out of a 78. So the Dizzie is a little diffrent then our 77's stock set up.

Oh, gotcha. Well, in that case, you're the same as me :D

I have the '79-'80 small cap electronic dizzy as well, with dual advance ports. I'll have to see how mine is hooked up, but I think I just capped off the outer port on the dizzy (no HAC) and capped one of the ports on the carb base. You might have too much vacuum advance hooked up the way Dallas describes above:

I think this might be backwards. The normal vacuum port for the vacuum advance is port #5, so I think your inside line should go to port #5, just in front of the idle adjustment screw, and port #13 (behind the idle adjustment screw) should be capped off. Maybe I'm confused, but that makes sense to me? It may not matter, they may be drilled at the same elevation and throttle plate exposure, but I don't know.

Cool if you could take a look at the way yours is set up and let me know. I have that same set up with the small cap dizzie. Thanks for the help.

T, I just checked mine. I have my outside port on the dizzy connected to port #5 (in front of idle adjustment screw). The inner port and port #13 on the carb are capped off. It seems to run fine (can pull I-70 out of Denver at 55-70 mph). Next time I drive it maybe I'll switch ports and see what happens - honestly I doubt I'm going to be able to feel a difference. :meh:

Cool thanks for the update Matt....I will hook it up that way and see if I can get it to stay running to....cant seem to get it to idle on its own with out the choke on.

Vacuum advance has nothing to do with how it runs at idle. That will either be your idle circuit solenoid or a vacuum leak, most probably.

The latest is....I have been trying to get my 76 up and running. I just spent the weekend taking it down to SLC to see Dallas and had nothing but issues. So I left it there for him to work on it. I knew that I was leaving it in the best hands a cruiser could be left in. So we have been working on that one latley.... For the 77 I have just been trying to get everything put back together on it. It hard getting all the lines to match up and have all the factory holes match up as well. So its just taking time to get it perfect.....I will send updates and more pictures as they come. I do atleast have it running really good and ready to drive. It just getting the body back together.

Well I was able to get my door skins here from CCOT this last weekend. Now just for the instalation.

Is the middle picture rockers?
I thought I remember you buying rockers for this!
What did you end up doing with these?

Those are the bottom of the driver passenger doors.....mine were all rusted out. So I had Clarence go through and cut those off and weld the new skins in. Came out realy well. That and the new skins the channels will let water out the bottom if it ever gets in.

These were the after pics

What are these pieces?

They look like they could be rockers, or amby door bottoms...

Thanks!
