Have you tried using any aftermarket available foam rather than re-using the old OEM foam?
To date, no! I've used old foam up to 350K miles 20 years old, and all have been just fine. The only foam I do find bad, always, is bottom piece.

Got the Denso from Rockauto. Installed and had two leaks on drivers side immediately. Box looked like hell. I had them send another one to replace. Box was perfect. There is a pinhole leak at the neck. Frustrating. Both made in China.

I bought a new China Denso from RockAuto for my Tacoma that I have not installed. I hope I do not experience problem because it will be months before I install it.

Denso is continuing to expand their China manufacturing facilities. Expect to see more Denso products from China.

Article below.

^^^ Denso is supplying to BMW and other European manufacturers nowadays too.

This isn’t a bad precautionary measure. I’d imagine the factory performs a decon type rinse to remove any manufacturing remnants. But who knows?
I'm guessing most don't pre-wash.... especially the ones at a lower price point.

If you cant salvage factory foam, you can use non absorbent closed cell foam weather strip from HD, Amazon 1"x 3/4- works well in hot, cold, wet environments. If you cant find a HD or Lowes you can get it here:
Amazon product ASIN B06ZZ41VTP
I reused the side mounts with factory foam on them and bought some 1"x3/4 for the top strip.

I just installed one this weekend. I used the side brackets from OEM like 2001LC mentioned and then bought some foam from HD to add tot he top. It was one that would expand up to an inch when unrolled. It worked quite well. Even got some fluid on it when burping the system and it

+1 to this. I used it this weekend on my install for the top and moved the side brackets from the old radiator like @2001LC mentioned.

Have to say the install was very smooth and the Spectra radiator was perfect. Fins looked great, fit perfectly and no leaks. Definitely would recommend from initial impressions. Time will tell on longevity.

I've got a hairline crack in my OEM radiator, i need to replace it. Looking on Rock Auto for a CSF and looks like 98-2007 are all the same part number? Can anyone confirm this?
Yes I can, the CSF from rockauto was the same the advance one, and fit my 99.

Koyo or Mishimoto? Put a 2 or 3 row (can't remember) Koyo in my buddy's 2000 LX. Mishimoto has a lifetime warranty on their radiators, even if it was wrecked in an accident! Neither option is prohibitively expensive either...$225-250ish.

Do you have a PN for the Mishimoto? I can't find one listed on there website.

I don't...sorry. Know my buddy found both when his OEM started to pee pee. Will ask if he still has the info. He went Koyo strictly because of convenience. Koyo was 2 days to his door. Mishi was more like 2 weeks and it was his DD.

Advance is screwing with me, now they're saying out of stock and the price is 215. I called my local radiator guy and picked up a Koyo brand for $195, i'll just go with that. I've had good experiences with Koyo on my other cars so i'll give that a try.

I always deduct credibility points from companies like Mishimoto and Morimoto.... ones that are US born and based but have Japanese sounding names but products completely made in China. Some call it marketing, others call it deceptive marketing.

Koyo is legit.... a Japan based company that now has manufacturing in Japan, China, Indonesia. Same as Denso. They are global companies.

I developed a hairline crack on the top of it, found out at work doing my weekly check. I cleaned the area, drained some coolant and applied some JB weld temporarily, it actually held up and didn't leak at all for a few days. When i had this thought of this being too good to be true i stress tested it, pushing the truck at high RPM it started to seep out again. Not much, a few drops...

What radiator do you currently have in the truck? Looks fairly new otherwise?

OEM, 200K miles 2007 LX, it looks new minus that little hairline crack, which sucks.

Radiator guy just dropped off my Koyo, box is straight and the inside has another box, so it would survive shipping if you get it online. Made in Indonesia

Don't necessarily disagree with any of the above but for what's it's worth, the Koyo came with a crack. It immediately began leaking from a weld after installation. They sent another a day later and told him to keep the cracked unit as well.

Thats pretty much exactly what happened to me but mine was on other side would leak down above the fan and spray back at the engine, I put JB weld on but it still leaked.... I made 7 months lol I dont think I recommend that. But again, the CSF from rockauto came to VA in two days and was packaged very well.

Doing my radiator today, the Koyo unit looks great, very thick and beefy and i didn't see any cracked or bent sections of the fins. Also found master splinter Corona 2.0

It's really a pleasure to wrench on this truck since it's rust free, every bolt comes out easily and nothing breaks. I haven't cursed yet, it's a good sign.
