Well, that didn’t last long. CSF made it 5 days before springing a leak. Traced the source to just above the bolts where there is a small pinhole where the leak is coming from. Clear manufacturing defect. Going OEM now and not recommending CSF radiators.

Wow, so I guess I can scratch CSF...

Are you saying OEM from the dealer is the best bet instead of Rockauto Koyo/Denso options?

Not willing to chance it again. Going OEM. I'm sure I just got "unlucky" Most have had great luck with CSF and the Denso units. I just drew the short straw evidently.

Where are you sourcing your OEM? Local dealer or online dealer?

400 isn't bad for OEM, i'd pay that for peace of mind if it'll last me another 20 years. Are you able to return the bad CSF unit?

Definitely will be returning it to them. Already put in my request for a refund and a return shipping label.

Sorry man you've had a rough year with the s*** job by the dealer and now this.

Yeah, and just dropped $1400 on my pup Sydney to have 4 cancerous tumors removed. Thankfully not malignant. Things tend to come in 3s, so hoping this is the final act of the crap trilogy :)

Just remember even oem components can have a defect. For the price difference between oem and aftermarket I would still go aftermarket. I have CSF rads in both my cruisers with no issues. Choice is ultimately up to the end user and how much you want to spend.

Has anyone used one of these brass tank KoyoRad radiators? I saw one on a friend's LX470 last month. I could tell it had been on that truck for a long time. I thought it was the original radiator. I see brass tank radiators for 80 series.

It looks like something from a 65 Buick. I haven't seen a radiator like this in decades. Not saying that old technology is the best technology.

The problem is I never kept a car that used a radiator like this for more than 3 or 4 years back in the day. So I have no idea how long they will last.

Also, I'm seeing articles that indicate new aluminum radiators may provide better cooling efficiency.

Side Question: Is anyone using a return hose spring?

Anyone have experience with the Denso 2213128? I know it has been asked before, but I never saw an answer. Based on the specs, it looks like it might have the thicker cores as well (listed as 1.937"), similar to the TYC. It's tough to tell the material based on the pictures though; it looks like it's all metal, without plastic tanks. Also can't find a solid answer on if it's brass or aluminum. I'm in LA and plan on going to some hot climates for trips so I need all the cooling I can get.

Summit Racing says it's a plastic tank with aluminum or copper core.

On a side note, who would have thought buying a radiator would be such a crap shoot...🤷‍♂️

Yeah I saw that, but then the RockAuto page lists it as "Aluminum or Copper Core", and it REALLY looks like metal to me in all the pictures.

So second radiator arrived. Purchased from Summit, drop-shipped from CSF. This box is at least new unlike the first one sent which was clearly a repackage. But the packaging is still damaged. Multiple places have the fins bent. Plastic top and bottom look fine and where far better protected by the packaging.

I'm still at a loss for what is okay in a radiator and any help is appreciated. Return this one and purchase another from somewhere local? This is okay and some bent fins are normal? Help please.
