Yeah you paint each panel separately, then assemble and do a 'closed-door' respray at the end.

Found a pair of bumperettes on Gumtree.
Taken the sides off and disassembled the sliding windows.
Disconnected the engine bay and removed everything from firewall. It is amazing to pull apart a vehicle that has never been touched. 99.99% of all screws, bolts, grommets, etc are intact.
I have inventoried and ticketted everything for further processing.
All will be cleaned, treated, painted, galvanised.

Further progressing.. remain the tub to crane off. Maybe tomorrow, but surely this week. I have invested in a sandblasting cabinet... wow.. and I decided that I will weld, paint and do the entire job myself.
Removed almost all body-tub mounts, except the second from the front. I didnt have a long M14 wrench reaching the nut. The floor is oem, no rust only dirty.
Btw, a friend advised the frame to be galvanised and then etched black. I thought I was going to do powdercoating. Advise?

Yes its a bit like a tv drama.. it slowly reveals itself but coming to a conclusion.
The matter fact I know this is not the most exciting or technically challenging restoration because the good condition of the vehicle but still its close to me so I keep on making records

I think your friend's suggestion for the frame is a good one. I have not powder coated a frame but have read posts here of people regretting it (chipping and hard to get a good coat in boxed sections). Have seen people on here who have been happy with the galvanised approach. Complete coverage and excellent rust protection. I don't have any experience with either. I use spray paint.

This is definitely the type of treatment I'm looking for my frame.
The procedure is like this: blasting, hot dip zinc galvanising, than zinc phosphate bath then powder coating.
Powder coating wouldn't work on the galvanised surface therefore it needs to have some sort of surface roughening for the powder coating to better adhese

Nice canter 4x4 what motor does that have in it

As for the first post and pics to follow : it's stories like this that make me want to sell all , pack up and move to Au !
... one day !
Happy to share but please no envy.. I was just pure lucky finding this. Actually it went to the right person without any middleman or anyone who would've abused this rig.
Yesterday I removed all the plates and decoys with blade and solvent.. took'em home and washed them in soapy water and between two layers of baking paper ironed them like a shirt. They came out perfect. I will place them back at due course.
This morning I head out to get a blow torch to remove bolts from frame hoping not to brake them. Pray for me I dont want to brake bolts...

broken bolts : weld a rod to the stud and back it out or you can drill it out and screw in a hell-coil to back it out.
As for galvanizing I had done that with my 45, Just recently I sand blasted a frame then cold galvanized ( rattle can ) and am coating it with rocker guard. If you can spray wash the frame and get all the sand out you can then prep the frame then when finished spray oil and grease in the frame for a good coating that will stop any rusting.

Looks very promising :bounce:
It'll be a painstaking effort, but certainly beats repainting the vehicle.
Try a hair dryer or heat gun on a few hidden places--might work--

The small oxigen torch worked perfectly on the bolts. None of the weldnuts or bolts in the frame broke, except one of the front ones of the splash guard under the radiator but that is easy to access and will just weld a new nut there. Today I'll have my engine out..hopefully.
