Is it really so badly out of character?
The wires are the stock NGK so those will stay and the battery is like a set of tyres so that is my choice, but is the valve cover so bad?
I wanted to do it aluminium like the manifold but last minute I changed my mind and sprayed black.
Should it stay black or make it silver?

I suppose it is more of a personal taste thing. OEM plug wires would be Yazaki and would be black and the valve cover would be natural aluminum. You have gone to extreme lengths to use OEM parts and replicating OEM finishes so those atributes jump out at me. I do curate for the Land Cruiser Heritage Museum so I have a tainted viewpoint.

If anyone is interested in spotwelds, -those tiny irregular roundish intrusions giving the body an originally industrial appearance - I can announce that all spotwelds will be restored to original look. Some are the spotwelds and some are faked (extremely tedious work) but most importantly they will be just as when it rolled out in Arakawa plant, JP

I really like the black valve cover but if you are keeping and recreating spot welds it is time to go back to a bare valve cover.

Oh,

How does one "fake" a spot weld? Inquiring minds need to know.:)
